Here's a Link to some pictures of the yard we go to. Most everything got crushed this summer thanks to the EPA police. It's was one of the last ones close to home. I'm gettin too old to crawl around under this stuff, so I got most everything I think I'll need to finish my projects for the next ten years at the speed I work at. http://www.newmotherearth.com/SalvageYard/SalvageYard.htm
Very cool!Too bad there isn,t a website on the net where you can upload vintage tin pics for all to see.If there is "other than commercial sites" please send me a link.I like to string the pics together in a short video and upload it to Youtube.I,d be making a deal with the yard owner and selling the stuff worldwide for a percentage.
i actually get very good deals from the yard owner. i can go there anytime i want. no certain hours. this yard has no signs or advertising at all. it is pretty hidden too. the old man that owns it also owns the whole town that it is in. he offered me a 55 caddy last time i was there for $200. its worth more than that for scrap. i might be buying some international cabs that are really nice for $150 a peice in january.
Ya I know that one but its a wrecking yard selling stuff. I mean a website where you can view cars from everywhere. Guys like us can post pics of what we find.....
The unknown vehicle is an airport plane tug. Probably a Clark tractor unit, likely powered by a Chrysler industrial flat 6. Here is a freshly rebuilt one in a 64 Clark at Execair at Hancock Airport in Syracuse. This one was equiped with a push button tflite and a 2 to 1 reduction gear before the diffy. Pulling 747's is no problem. the wieigh about 5 tons and run with sodium filled rear tires for enhanced traction.
these pics are probably in some farmers backyard...i know my dad had a pile of old cars and trucks behind my grandmas...we pulled out a beat up 57 ford tudor station wagon and a 55 ford fordor
umm.. it is a junkyard. i took the pics. the owner is not a farmer.... it is 20 acres of cars. i will take extra batteries next time. alot of cool shit i wanted pics of. i been goin here for about 12 years.
