OMFG!!! I know where I'm going for vacation... Damn... Thanks for the pics... We have a yard around here that has a ton of shit in it but nowhere near the amount of prewar stuff like there, only thing is, if it's older than 1973, he won't sell a thing off it.

  4. Nick ... sorry about that ... I thought you were "done" posting pics after post #2, so I posted the "Cool pics Nick ... Couldja give us an example of the "way over-priced" stuff?" reply ... and when I refreshed the thread, I discovered that you weren't done (heck, you were just getting started! :D) ... so for the "continuity sake" of this cool picture thread, I deleted my first post (not knowing you were typing a reply to it).

  5. How complete was this '55 DeSoto FireFlite? ... I see the front bumper is missing, how 'bout the grille? ... anything under the hood? :D

    I just planned a vacation!!!

I just want to know if they will help with loading onto the trailer. I think this coming spring I am going to be taking a vacation down to TX to see a friend. Im taking the family and pulling my trailer behind my truck. I was planning on stopping at Owens in TX but now I might need to stop another time!!

thanks for the pics and my heart rate was like 180 while looking at these photos.

Just think to yourself what you would pay for a certain part that you need. Then double it. Now you can see why it's all still sitting there after being open for business for many, many years.

Like some of those "I'm gonna restore it someday" fools.

"Figure it out, don't be a spoonfed whiner. I was surprised some need to blurt it out to elevate themselves."

And some need to keep it to themselves to elevate themselves. If you don't want it, let others know.

Think about it, no one is hiding anything.. The contact info is all over. This isnt an advertisement! If you want to buy something, then call them, or look in Hemmings. They take credit cards.( and you will need it )

Enough of that . Wow what a weekend. I cant believe how many pictures I say " I didnt see that"

    Thanks for posting this Malcolm.

  21. All I see is rusty cars.

Just joking. I have purchased items and a car from Easy Jack's, the price makes you think that you had over paid at the time. Then five or ten years goes by, and you are a wishing that you would have bought more, at that time. He does make sales, he just is not hoarding the parts, there is always car bodies being shipped out.

It is that you can not get a steal of a purchase price, that is why the stuff is still there, just waiting for the correct new owner.

Great pictures!!! I wish i could live there and build all day haha.

I know everyone is talking about paying to much but who is to say what to much is. I felt i paid to much for my Model A but in the end i didnt care because it was now MINE!!! It wasnt going to be sold to anyone else and in the end i am not kicking myself because what i paid is what they are going for now opposed to just a year ago what they were going for. and had i waited i would have prob paid more.

  23. That's too bad. A lot of 'old junkyard farts' are like that. There was this really neat place nearby in Fayetteville, Tn. Holts Auto Salvage. Probably about 40 acres. Mr. Holt had everything organized by type. He had all the 60-64 Chevys in two side by side rows instead of being scattered all over like most yards. Everything was like that.

You'd ask him what he wanted for that whatever and he'd say "$1000" and that was 35 years ago. He never sold much and about 10 years back most the stuff I had looked at all those years ago was still there but now just rust being held together by blackberry vines and kudzu. He still wanted $1000 for anything. About 5 years ago I was there and so was a crusher just grinding through the yard. He probably got $50 a car from the crusher when he could have sold things for decades if he hadn't been so stubborn about his prices.

Maybe in Kansas things hold up, but in the south, things left outside revert back to their natural state pretty quickly.

Last time I was at Jack's was 1971. I remember they wanted $150.00 for a Model A OOOGA horn. I bet they still have it but now they want $300.00.

Do they still have the donkey?
