    nice period lettering, looks correct.

  6. I heard a nasty rumor that the Olympia Brewery had closed. say it isn't so.
The Oly Dark that you could only get locally there was enough reason for a road trip! Not to mention they brewed Hamm's and PBR there.
    I brake for Artisians!

I toured the Oly brewery in '79 with my parents on the way back from a road trip to Alaska in the family motorhome. I can still smell the the beer.....no wait, that the smell of the beer in my hand. Oly is hard to find here in So Cal.

  15. Just looked it up. Olympia is owned by SABMiller, who owns Pabst and they closed the brewery in Washington and now make it Texas! Oh the horror. The truly sad part of this is Olympia's claim to fame was the Artesian Wells that the water came from to make the unique taste, remember their slogan was "It's the water"
As for Hamms, I have a really cool collection of the Hamms bear stuff - Mugs, the original Mini Fridge Keg, Glasses, Slat & Pepper shakers, even a stuffed Hamms bear from the 50's

Vern Moats had the first Oly sponsored funny car.

I think Mike Miller had the sponsorship later on.

    Oly Roller....

  19. Yeah thats right,in the late 70s when I worked on Nitro Nicks flopper we were at a race when we ran Ivo....while on the shut down Miller was runnin someone when the trans blew up in the car, caused a huge fireball and blew the OLY body off the car (along with the firebottles).when it came to a stop about 50 feet from us on its side and we worked to get Mike out all he could say was "But I hit the fire bottles"..after he didnt even buy us a beer...ah good old 32 funny car races...oh yeah I dig the two tone A-bone

  20. No Oly back in this area but Hamms is easy to find. I have noticed that Miller has retained the distinct differences in the beers they own. I give them some credit for that. My dad drank Oly in the 70s. Prob was the first beer I sipped!

I prefer home brew but I guess I would drink Oly if there was nothing else available.

I remember my high school days in Astoria Oregon,, making a looper with my Buds and a case of Oly,, Did anybody ever play the dot game on the back of the label? Or were the Stubbies replaced with cans before your Oly days.
