Head up I35 a few miles, there are a couple of shops that sell old cars/hotrods and nostalgia stuff,or head to DFW about an hour north,Austin about an hour south.

  9. Damn New Yorkers and their fucked up sense of humor. Actually I'd probably laugh at a joke like that if I didn't live here.

Austin, enjoy the cruise through hill country on Rt. 6 if you are not in a hurry.

    • http://www.cameronparkzoo.com/ - The Zoo is pretty decent, if you have a mountain bike, that same park has miles of killer singletrack (you can hike or jog the trails as well) It's where the Brazos and Bosque rivers converge.
    • Hop in the car, head a few miles north up I-35 to West (that's the name of the town), head in toward the square, and sit down at a bakery for some fresh hot kolace and a up of coffee. It's a fine way to start the day.

If you like guns don't miss the Texas Ranger Museum. Those guys pack more heat than you'd think possible.

Go to the Dr. Pepper museum... I know it sounds nerdy, but they have some really cool vintage equipment/machinery and artifacts and stuff.

Dr. Pepper Museum is cool. Ranger Museum is cool. Cameron Park is haunted, and creepy looking.

Get a hold of HAMBer "R.C." and check out his shop and his dad's shop outside of Waco in Clifton and Cranfills Gap. Brian Bass used to live there as well, he might have some more ideas.
