Ok, I know this is O/t as hell, and I'm probably gonna get creamed for blowin up this thread, but I'm just wonderin if anybody remembers this thing? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEDwfk8EYR0 Gotta admire Renault for building it "just because" Fire away...
thats funny I was thinkin about that when this thread came up...if I remember right they never got it to run very well.....but damn wat a KOOL ride it was.so anybody seem it around??
I remember seeing the full size, drivable ones at a World of Wheels show in KC in about '72. I also remember seeing a couple of gasser vans at KCIR when I was little. Mostly for crowd-pleaser wheelie machines, but still....they were there. I've been dying to build one for years.
Thats my AWB 55 chevy. Here's a link with a few pic's http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212155
I have an opportunity to pick up something REALLY strange. It's a commer van. mostly used in the UK. What happens when one of these gets rodded? Its a project for my son. Is it wrong?
that red van looks really cool.. In action tho, scares the shit outta me.. lookin like it could tip over at a light gust of wind
I think it's in one of my old Truckin' Mags, I'd have to go check real quick but I think it is...Too bad my scanner decided it wasn't going to continue on with life.
I'm working on a 65 Dodge A-100, but not trying for the gasser look. Sitting on the front tire makes it hard enough to handle as it is so I lowered it about 3 inches. Lot better drive and easier to get in.
Hi Evryone! This is my first post!.. Cool website. My van is not a gasser but it is a GAS!.. ....................................................................Jarvis High Performance Custom Machining!
Back in the late 80's I remember seeing a real bad ass van that ran in Denver I always wonder about that one. It used to be pretty quick as I can remember. But Hell I was not that old either jus a young boy.
I have not seen one van yet that was in gas class, almost all here were EXHIBITION .In fact the rule book did not allow vans.
Sorry Meatball, You better do some homework on this subject. First of all, the Little Red Wagon is not an econoline. Its an A-100 Dodge. second, LRW was built to run in A/FX, not in a gas class, and no those two classes are nothing alike! LRW was not built by, or worked on by big daddy Don Garlits. It was built by John Collier and, Jim Schaeffer. Garlits was way to busy setting records all over the country to build LRW in '65.
Dont you just love how any car with a straight axel is a gasser It could be just me, but I get pissed every time I see a picture posted of a car with no fenders, massive engine setback, or vastly altered wheelbase( like most a\fx or early funny cars) being refered to as a gasser. The term gasser is wasted by to many people who have no concept of what one realy is! OK, I'll get off my soap box and calm down now.
is that a fugin' teepee ! WOW in norway , go figure ... next your going to show us an old panel with a blower on it ... damn thats cool .....
ive thought of that before ..i love it ...i think those vans drive like shit ive worked on one before.. with a gasser stance they got to really ride like shit...but i like it lets see more pics..
