    Heres a 48 topo from the NHRR this year. The guy has a Ford Pinto 4 banger and a 4 speed also pinto with it all going into a 9' rear. A real
    econo rat rod ,but something you don't see everyday in a topolino.

    Can a Pinto banger actually turn those rear tires?

  21. Probably correct. Since Mac joined the Zipper Club (heart opperation) I don't think it's even made exhibition passes. Sold him some door latches several years ago when he was fine tuning it for display.

  22. Brandon;
    No, haven't done the Florida trip for a few years now..
    Funny thing though.. this body CAME out of the Gainsville area...

  23. I scanned these from the June 1965 issue of HRM for my Davis ~ Ingram Jewel "T" AA / Altered ... Lotsa Pics!!! thread (click HERE) ... but they are much more appropriate for this thread:

  29. Time to add a mix of my favorites...a 4-door 1100, gasser, contemporary drags, Ausie Land Speed Car, Street Rod, vintage drags and finally a color coordinated back-up wench.

  30. We've been loving all the hot rod, street rod and drag Fiat's for many months, so I thought I'd dig out some factory photos I was able to locate in Europe several years ago for your Monday morning viewing pleasure.

    The distinguished gentleman is none other than the father of the Topolino, Dante Giacosa who was brought in from the Fiat Aircraft division to design and engineer the little lightweight car.

    The second is a great shot of the final assembly line. To the left are the larger 1100 series, 500 coupes and convertibles in the center, and sedan delivery's and panel trucks on the right.

    For those who have never see a totally stock Topolino, here's what they looked like right off the assembly line, plus a factory shot of the super rare Giardiniera woody wagon.
