As you may or may not know, Goodguys put on the Blue Suede Cruise this year. (Before the whiners and conspiracy theory rodders get their dander up, the scoop is that the Baders were going to end the event. If they hadn't contacted Goodguys, the event would have gone away.) According to the previous promoters, the event DOUBLED in size this year. The only real changes were that "fun runs" weren't all day, but rather between 5pm and 8pm, because of the added LARGE nostalgia drag racing program. That program included FED Top Fuel and Top Fuel Funny Cars, who put on an INCREDIBLE show for the crowd.

Anyway, the turnout of cars was great even with Friday and Sunday's rain. Luckily the rain on Sunday only lasted until about 9:30 so the track could be dried and the drags run. I have to say that I was taken aback by the large number of great kustoms in attendance.

The $1 a pound ice cream was really good.

OK, ok, where are the pics, right?

Here's some of what I saw. More in the Gazette!

Thanks. Nice representation of the show.
I was there Sat and Sun. Sure got vacant on Sunday. Many folks expected a Columbus Ohio event. This was a cruise event with drag racing.
Smaller and more manageable in some ways (able to see most of the cars.) Columbus doesn't have the ambience at the fairgrounds of racing engines roaring away while viewing the show cars. Granted racing is available away from Columbus but the Suede and the Norwalk track gives it a different feel. Seems like this event always gets some rain and that sucks.
Columbus certainly has WAY more vendors.
didn't like that this event competed with Fall Gasser Madness at Thompson but there's only so many dates on the calendar.
    I'm ready for next year.

    Great Pics.
Talked to the owner of this truck and his wife at Bonneville Speedweek on Tuesday he set a new record and said he was done running for the week and heading to Ohio? for the all fords drags. I could have the state and the event wrong I was pretty tired at time. He was a really cool guy.
