  1. Wanna trade back????

Wait, never mind I forgot you're not allowed to have a roadster. :)
Good to see you get to drive it now. Are you still waiting for the first rock chip??

Why does everyone seem to find religion during death and hot rodding??

  5. Next time I'm over you're taking me for a ride, brother P. Congratulations. Punching out DVDs and getting Live Wire done to that level at the same time is no mean feat.

Was wondering, on the side profile the engine-bay/hood-length looks a bit too long,
the grille is way ahead of the front wheel centerline.
The level is right, unlike the dark blue coupe next to it which the grille is too high.

    Than looking at this pic,
    [IMG]
guess your gonna put a fan up there?
still looks like you can set the shell back a couple inches with a fan,
    whats your plan?

Originally the grille was spose to be on top of the cross member but it would of had to been
really chopped to sit right (Not higher than Cowl) also yes I wanted to run a fan and then
decided not to cause it would have to be way cut down to fit.. But now I still might do it just to get more air flow so that should fill the gap a bit.. Its all I could do..The ratiator would of hit the fan if it was on top aswell....and its really not that bad unless you point it out :D

    Hey Evel,
The radiator would need to be chopped to fit between the crossmember and hood top,
but the shell would only need to be notched in line where the crossmember will clear the shell sides.
Then you get to keep the grille insert length,
maybe gettin a thicker radiator if you have cooling problems?
or routing a small rear heater core in the back somewhere.

    In terms of noticing it,
since the car will be in so many pics, media etc.
That part will become more noticeably wrong as time goes by.

Lotsa guys will also emulate that car in building there own coupes,
studying pics to get there proportions right.

Julios coupe had the grille shell ahead of the crossmember,
but since the hood length was shorter it has an acceptable look to it.

    TP

    The car is bitchin though!

YA it is what it is I don't think i'm going to mess with it...it really isn't that bad..

Also I can't put it ontop of the cross member cause it will hit the Fan pully...

So I would of done it diffrent but thats how it worked out.. next time i'll get it right :D

    thanks for the input

Other than the channel, this is the dream car I hope to build with my coupe. The car is perfection.

Congrats, very well deserved considering what it must have taken to build.

    Thanks,,

Altho its not like it was not out of the ordinary to run the grille like mine is... so is it "Wrong"???...thats one mans opinion of whats wrong and whats right. I could find several cars with the same set up..How do we know its wrong? At least its period correct ;D

Very cool too see man, your car looks great going down the road! Building a car to that level is a serious journey, hopefully you're to the point that the pain in getting there is worth it now. It's sometimes tough to know what that will feel like when you're in the middle of building though:p

    Congrats!

Wrong was a strong word to use I guess in that sense,
since there are so many guys that like and build cars so very differently.
Also since there will never be a hood on it most people won't notice it,
or let it detract from the overall car.

As a sidejob hotrod builder though,
using pics of previously built hotrods is the best way to get and give ideas to a customer,
what to and not to do, comparing different ideas to make their "perfect" car.

There are some guys that sweat huge over a fraction of an inch, a couple degrees,
and some guys that just build stuff to where it fits.
Thats what I meant by over time it will get more analyzed cause thats just what happens.

HAHAA No Johnny Zibo is OK.. He's got a good eye to catch that,, and I have to
say I agree but it's just how it worked...

As for a hood.. Possibly some day when I do the "Drag" Configuration.. I think it
    will still look good.....

Fuck it it's a hot rod!!!! now its fun time...

What a great weekend! just seeing you all shaky and nervous before and after your first blast down the road (your first hit. haha!) was priceless! it brings back the feelings we all get the first time we give it the gas and get our hotrods up to speed down the road, you cant explain it, but you made me re-live it. Yeah!!!

    Your car kicks ass Piero.

Sometimes its the responsibility of not only the owner, but the many builders, clubmembers & friends to speak out when things are changeable,
to point out something so obvious, not by some guy (me) 200 miles away!

Especially with so much HAMB coverage during its build...
Hey i'm sure it ruined any chance for me on MF8 ;)
but i'm not an asskisser either, just an ass!
