Hey Brandon! been following your build on Ford-Trucks.com. (ford truck enthusiast) Welcome to the H.A.M.B. People here tend to respect hot rodding a bit more than on the other website....they are more of a purist bunch there. With the exception of a few. But when it comes time to ask a question about the truck in specific...you can get a wealth of knowledge there. Here you can get away with just about anything...and people support it and offer up great advice to further customize it. Look forward to more on your build.

    HiD,

    your truck needs fixin' up?!
Not from what I can see!
    Nice ride.

    BrandonWillis,

Cool mock-up pic. Reminds me of my ex-brother-in-law's '67 F-250 Camper Special. Hopefully the steering won't quite so...numb, when you're done with yours. ;)

    NeZ,

    SWEET!

Saw this one in Little Rock... I notice it has an 80s bed on it and I like it! My truck had an original flare side and I never liked the lines of it...but the square lines of the 80s matchs the lines of the slick. What you think? I know where I can get my hands on a Mint 1980s flare side bed...for cheaaaap. Should I do that or keep the rusty sytleside and keep on my path of repairing it?

Unless you're going to use that truck to do some actual work (yeah, right), I'd say keep what cha' got right now.
Its a nice look and.....you've already got it.

What's going on with the tailgate?

Is that just a quickly applied spoof-can job to keep the rust away? Almost looks like padded vinyl.
I like the Ford logo applique. Nice touch.

Depends on how the engine is set up.
Is thing pretty high strung, or stock?
Tell us what you've done to the engine and that would help with a more accurate recommendation.

Hello everyone, I am new to this site, found this post and thought it was a good time to add a picture of my slick. 66 with mustang 2, 4 link, all coilovers, 460/c6. Last time I do a truck like this again though. My other projects to come are a 35 chevy truck, need doors for, a 30? diamond t, both scheduled to be rats, and a 57 ford truck. Really enjoying this site so far.

lol. Is it that repulsive?!? The bed doesnt bother me so much but the crack headed vinyl bed cover and whatever the crap that is on the tail gate with the ford sticker...o yeah the plastic hood scoops... and half ass flame job. that does it for me.
But you know somebody worked hard on it... and for that I respect that.
you can tell he tried... probably limited by some budget and parts availability

    o well.
Im stickin to my styleside. and low key paint job
    and traditional look.

A late model bed on these trucks looks like total SHIT. Just one mans opinion.

Yeah, A guy down the street from me has a yellow 70 chevy truck with a 95 GMC sierra bed on it... all painted to match...but it stll doesnt look right. On top of that he put 22 inch wheels on it with all this crazy stuff going on inside the wheel. Too much. and tryin too hard.

To me, my favorite 60s truck is the Uni and the styleside f100.
The lines are so clean and well done... to me it is the best looking truck
that ford put out from then on. I never really liked the 70s 80s or 90s models.
my 2001 supercrew is cool.. but I dont like the reg cab or super cab that much either.

Another favorite of mine are the crew cab trucks of the 60s. Incredible looking. esp with a short styleside bed.

Sorry about that, I meant to say "traditional" hot rod, or something along that line. Straight suicide axle and stubbed bed, all "homemade". I don't really care for the term rat either, but it is commonly used. I prefer the term low-cost hot rod, sorry if I offended anyone.
