Me three. Seems the Rusty Rodential Rods have gone from fashionable, to arty and / or humorous, to post-nuke road warrior movie extras. And that rusty pickup?

I did like the ultra low Caddy. Gary

When I see a car I don't like or understand where the owner was going I usually just keep walking. I mean, hey, it's his car. But in this case, I'd kinda have to RUN away. That's just a little sad.

The bewildering thing about it is that it didn't just happen. He spent hours thinking it up, gathering parts, and doing it, following a theme, and never realized at any point that it was a bad idea and stopped, and then when it was all done, he actually took it to a show and took responsibility for it, it boggles the mind! All that time and effort wasted on something like that.

I think guys are doing this stuff just to piss real hotrodders off. I doubt very much whether he built that and actually believed it looked good.

    Pete

P.S. Great pics other than the "show cars"

    NitroFC,

After deleting the crap cars you took some cool pictures. The '54 Chevy with the chop top looks very cool. Looking at that one piece of crap ( you know which one ) doesn't that make one fell better about their own rides.

    CRUISER

That's actually a Chrysler with the tops of a pair of T-bird fenders welded on. It's a wild car the back trunk area is shaped like a "V". It's built by Joe Sulpy, an old co worker of mine. Good to see it done, he started building that thing about 15 years ago. It's a copy of an old custom, but I forget who originally built it. I'll see him today and ask him.

Sad use of what looks to be a decent A body. The real sad thing is I go to shows and younger rodders think this is really the way it used to be! I'm sure it was built for pure shock value, nobody could posibly think that was cool.

Actually, it is a damn close copy of a '54 Ford built by Dick Korkes (Korky's Customs). It had me fooled!

Sadly I disagree. I have met more than one person who ACTUALLY build a car like this because they think it's COOL. The exact words in conversations I've had are..."I'm gonna build me one of them ratrods." "I picked up an Ol Skool Rodz at Wally World the other day and I see this is the thing to do." I understand building a car on the cheap, BUT, there is no excuses for complete lack of taste.

Nitro- thanks for posting pics from the show! I to get a kick outta some of these "rat rods". What the hell is that 5" pressure (?) gauge for?
