I actually bought this car a year ago(almost exactly to the day),but finally drug it home this weekend.so its not really new to me,,but I guess it's a new project?

It was sitting at a body shop that i deliver to..the body shop owner mentioned that the cars owner wanted to get rid of it and that I should buy it for parts...at the time I was working on a 51,but didnt need any parts ...so i wasnt interested,,a few weeks and several more times him mentioning that " i should buy it" i took a better look at it and was suprised how solid it was.the outside of car would have been as nice, but the previous owner decided to sand teh car down and prime it with cheap laquer primer :( the more i thought about it,the more i figured i'd better go ahead and buy it,since the price was right(and the title was good and current!

So anyways..thats my plan...do a 2 dr conversion, then chop the top drop it down on floor w a step notch ,etc,,later 6 cylinder.

The last few pics are as of tonight,,.,hopefully this weekend i will have the quarters off of the parts car...

just inside the garage for its first night of alot of long nights!

Hey Sam F., what happened to your '34 Coupe project? I've located a 5-window close by, and have been begging the old man for it for years, he finally told me i would get the car, but, he hasn't told me when or how much!!It's driven me Nuts!!

Floors look pretty solid. I'm sure trunk is the same ??? You are way ahead of the game. I spent a year rebuilding the trunk pan and floor pans on my junker. I am still working bad metal. Never trust a guy who says a car is "primed and ready for paint" !!

this one has a pretty good body for a change,,so i hope to actually paint this one.

yes,the trunk floor and all the bracing is just as nice, why are the 4drs always the only solid cars ????

Looks like a nice project. You don't want to sell the stainless on the front fenders do you?

Cool project. If the motor was original to the truck it was pulled from rustyny is right it's probably a 250, but maybe a 292?

the stainless on the fenders are dinged up pretty good on both pieces,

they look like they would take a lot of time to repair, but if you think you can use them they are yours for the cost of shipping! :D

One night and its already gone from a 4 door to a 2 door. Nice work! Keep that pace and you'll be done in a few minutes!

  24. Based on the quality work you did on your 51.. I'm sure this one will also be nothing short of awsome! Todd

thanks TODD!,,i hope it looks better than the 51 when i''m done..only time will tell:D

but i had to back up and switch to planB today,,,(sorry no pics) but i got off alil early today and headed out to my parents place were the parts car is stored,,,its just a bare shell sitting out behind the barn,,,well first off,,it is now inhabeted by lil black bees and big red wasps,,,,AND the lower quarters on the parts car are worse than i thought...

..so,,,i came back home and figured i'd switch to plan B and use the 4dr rear doors as quarters ,which is cool cuz they are solid,,but the 4dr B post wont work as the 4 dr doors overlap more on the b pillar than the 2 dr's do,,so there is a 1/4 bigger gap than normal....eerrrrrrrrrrr!

so i guess i am now on a mission to kill the bees & wasp this weekend to retrieve the 2dr B pillars!!!

You will want those 2 door posts and quarters, will be much cleaner and less work in the end, trust me. I bought a donor car/shell and glad I did!

kill them bees and take control...!

Here is one to get your juices flowing, 4 door to 2 using the back doors as quarter.

Excellent, can't wait to see how this one turns out. Those floors are a thing of beauty, the way you're doing this car is going to be so much easier and cleaner in the end as opposed to, say, trying to rebuild your dad's parts car or fixing a different 2 door with shitty floors and body.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. I just killed off a huge hornet's nest that was under the front wheelwell of my '57 Chevy. I hosed it down on two separate occasions with those huge cans of bee spray, I think the first can just pissed them off and I got stung in the forehead. Get at least two cans and be ready to run.
