Features The Mother Of all Tail Light Threads!!!

Alright, I started a tire thread a couple months ago and it worked out well so now it's time for tail lights.

Throw up pictures of your Hot Rod or Custom's rear end and let us know what you are running as far as tail lights. Try to include the year of tail light and the car that you put them on in case it's not clear. Also if there are any changes to them let us know that too.



This may help a lot of guys learn the differences between years and what the options are for their own cars. I know that I could use a lesson or two!

Those last two are obvious but don't forget to list where the lights came off of as well as what they are now. And like Loverboy's 1983 tour I would like this thread to "Get it up, & Keep it up!!!

 

I know it ain't pretty yet,but I wanted to be different.These are 56 Rambler tailights,which are normally horizontal.Trying to make the car as built in 56,hence the rear bumper,and I have some other stuff for it from 56.

 

1953 Mercury- Tail lights are modified '53 Merc bezels with lenses from an '89 Astro Van I cut down to fit those bezels. Pretty simple and cheap to boot. I really wanted those old Lee lenses but couldn't find any..

 

Here's my 58 F-100. They came off of a 58 mopar of some kind, I can't remember. Those are just the reverse lights. I wanted to mock them up before I got new solid red lenses.

P.S. '61/'62 Thunderbird lenses will screw right into a stock '55 Ford tail light bezel and they look pretty sharp, cheap fix!

here's what's in my 55 pontiac.
stock 55 pontiac outer lenses, with 61 chevy bullet lenses set into the center of the stock 55 lenses.
i cut out the centers of the 55 lenses because they were broken, i found that the 61 chevy lenses only needed to be filed down a tiny bit around the circumference, to fit right into the center of the 55 lenses. i used clear epoxy to glue the 61 chevy centers in.
