Thats what a crappy tube axle looks like after a bunch of violent wheelie induced crashes back to earth.

Not quite what you were looking for, but I guess it sorta counts, lol. Stock steel and some shitbox 10" junkyard steelies on the back. The tires are soon to be ground out to wide white. Crazy mudder tires. I like it, thats all that matters. Obviously a LOT of work still needed here.....

i think a lot of the steel wheel deal on the super stockers & afx had to do with offset....steel wheels were easy to widen and make to fit...magnesium wheels...pretty much one offset per wheel design....look back and see how many times you will see halibrands run backwards....not for the looks... just because they fit that way.

    my junk .... brandon:D

I used to run 5 spoke spindle mounts up front, that more or less matched the back wheels. I wasn't sure about mixing in the 12 spokes and skinny tires until I saw Littleman's truck. Mixing wheels works way better on hot rods than it does on muscle cars.

  25. These don't count as mis-matched wheels; they were MADE to go together! Awesome.

Always thought diggers looked great with huge mags in back and wires in front, or altereds with bigs and 12-spokes. On a street car I think they just look like what they are: mis-matched.

  27. Wierd...I have both and the aluminum feels a lot lighter to me. Maybe the old steel wheels were lighter than modern wheels.

heres me mismatched set on my A ET's in front steels in back gotta love the drag car look!Actually it was because as stated steel wheels were easier to split and widen for desired offsets and fitments and also could be pulled off on a double duty car for the mags with street tires thats why lightwieght mags up front steels on slicks in back.
