Wow, that is a hell of a display (backdrop). I wonder who the display/graphic designer is.

I searched for but couldn't find a bike forum I happened upon about a year ago. They were making Plexiglas bubbles to streamline their bicycles. They said that the way that the '60s car guys did it was as follows:

    Build a big oven.
Go buy a sheet of Plexiglas and 2 sheets of plywood.
Cut a hole in 1 sheet of plywood that looks like the shape of the base of your bubble.
Drill a small inflation hole in the middle of the 2nd sheet of plywood. You're going to attach an air compressor hose to it later.
Sandwich the Plexiglas between the two sheets of plywood and hold them together with screws.
Turn it up-side-down and cook it in the oven until the Plexiglas starts to get soft.
    Inflate the bubble.
    Let is cool and harden.

They had successfully built several for themselves and their friends in various shapes and sizes.

Man I really dig 60's style Kustoms, especially Bubble Tops.
I stumbled across this today from 1946.. it may be the first bubble top kustom ever.

Sorry for the crappy pic but it is an old post card I have had for some time.
This is the DIDIA 150 created by Andy Didia from Detroit Michigan with a
hand formed aluminum body and what is called a skyview top

Dig the dual McC'd Y-block the most!! Tell him he's been an inspiration to many.:)

  12. Uhh, after scrolling through this thread, I realized I'm not a big fan of this style... to each his own I guess. I DO like the ATOMIC PUNK, however.

Oh yea I see your point... NOT!

I understand that imagination, innovation and individuality are not everyone's thing.
Some need to follow the pack. And that is exactly why they market "kit cars".;)

This was one of my favorite cars when I was a kid… I remember I was always gonna build a model of it but for some reason never did. Thanks for posting these pic's!
