Anyone out there installed Jamco front coils on a shoebox Ford? I am reassembling the front suspesion using Jamco 3 inch drop front coils. Do I reuse the factory spacer at the top or do I leave it out? Thanks for the help.
the 'spacer' is actually an insulation piece, designed to reduce road noise transmission, and absorb some harshness. they are usually rock hard and useless after sixty years, so leave em out or get new ones from bobdrake or macs or someone they are ten bucks each here.. wont hurt to leave em out is what im trying to say.
If you like the squeeking sound of metal on metal, you don't need them. I got mine from Dennis Carpenter. Call Old Car Centre in Langley. They can get them for you.
I had emailed Jamco tech from there website but was hoping for a answer before Monday. The pieces I am referring to are aluminum not a rubber isolator.
Call JC at JAMCO 951-549-1441. Never heard of a "factory" alum. spacer. But after market sold them for sagging springs. And "YES" use the rubber insulator top and bottom.
