1948 Ford convertible, rust free and in a million pieces. Big Project, but a nice start for me. I have had it for about 6 months and will start on the car this winter.

Here are some pix of my 50 merc coupe when I got it. Not really a barn find since it was sitting outside in the sme spot for 30 years but sure does look good in my yard :) It had lichens and moss growing on it like a rock. I aired up the tired changed all of the fluids, put a new battery in it an BAM I was driving it around the yard. Couldn't have been happier. Ah just like the Highlife commercial. Happy as a guy hauling a new car home on a trailer, or something like that.

  5. Does it count if it was found in about 15 barns and the cowl was on top of a lean-to shed?

Here's the one that got away. :(

1931 Chevy that my grandfather used as his Jeep/hunting vehicle until the 60's when he got an actual Jeep. After that it sat in our barn until '92 or '93 when he sold it. Aside from the front fenders being all beat up and some surface rust, it was in really good shape. He and I both wish that he could've kept it for me, but he needed the money at the time and I was only 6 or 7. :(

Me,dad, and Harrison drug this 32 out of a basement in Knoxville last fall. Its been in storage for over 46 years. We built a new frame for it over the winter. And last week I took it for the first drive.

With the exception of the Daytona, I was able to buy each of these from an actual Barn. While some of them are not over 40 years old, they still came from barns! The first is a W-30 68 442 vert with "D" heads. The next is a green 69 Daytona that is still sitting in that same spot in Strwberry Plains Tennessee, the third is a pair of Mustang convertibles (that's not me in the wife-beater tee shirt), the fourth is a 32 Ford 5 window REAL 60's hot rod (that's me in the yellow shirt), the fifth is a 28 Dodge coupe body. I've found a bunch more, but these are only the ones from actual barns. Now if we start a thread about finding them NEXT to barns, I have more of those! :)

If you don't mind my asking, what was the owner's reply when you tried to get the Daytona?

The answer on the 440 4bbl Daytona was "sure it's for sale... $185,000" There is a white Superbird inside the barn too. Guy is well known in Mopar circles. Goes to all of the local mopar swap meets with used parts priced about twice what they are worth.

boy I wish I had pics to prove myself. I just recently located a guy who owns 4-5 barns. Each one is line with his 83 cars. Amongst them are big block mopars, 50 merc, a couple 59 caddys, an altered 51 henry j and a shit ton of other oldies. I looked at all of em.

I know, "everybody" "knows" a guy like this

Here is mine. Last on road in 1966 in MO. Stored in barn there until the 80s. Guy I bought it from transported it to WI and then stored it in his barn until 2003 when I bought it.

Sold it to make the ex-wife go away.:D It went to TX, where all shoeboxes seem to end up...

Here's how I found my old 29 in Canada. Not a barn, but stored in a down-town store for 30 years. Neat car on a 32 frame with early Olds power. I sold it several years ago to the original builder.
