got the drivers side fender cut, fitted, and tack welded,,,,,,and got the drivers door done also......i separated the lower skin from the door frame, removed my two inches from the frame, slid the frame up two inches, tacked the frame in place, reattached the sides of the skin, cut two inches from the bottom of the skin, and folded it back over,,,in doing it this way, i have no weld seam across the doorskin,,,,,i wasnt sure if it would work,,but it worked like a charm,,,,,ill do a few minor things differently on the other skin,,but it turned out awesome,,,,,,,,nice to see the full profile of the car again..........tomorrow, ill tackle the other side,,then its on to the inner fenders, the hood, and sectioning or moving the radiator support,,,,,,,,,,,,here are some pics,,,,(with some closeups of the reskinning of the door)

  10. This is the one! What a profile - better than I could have imagined.
I don´t think I ever saw a sectioned car before this one that made me think it could be factory.

Wow man, this looks great! What a difference sectioning it made, and kudos for showing constraint & not sectioning it too much-it looks perfect. Keep up the great work

    Nirvana.

If you plan to re-create the mesh grille, you might consider using the mesh in the headlight bezels as well, to help establish their position into the horizontal plane of the car.

you are reading my mind,,,,im actually changing the nose a bit,,,,its gonna be pretty wild,,and it does include using some expanded metal behind the headlights and taillights,,,(and possibly a small side scoop near the fin,,still trying to figure out if it'll look right though))....
