Looking great - we'll see you at the drags! Thanks for all the beer and vodka at the A.S.S. party.

You have A.S.S. and MR. FORD to thank for the Vodka and Beer. I was just an "innocent" bystander. But I will see you at the drags though! (just not in Walter:()

It's a '55 331. Still undecided on compression ratio and cam specs, but a few guys on here have been more than helpful steering me in the right direction. It'll be fun:D

Well I got a few things done this week so I thought I'd share. First I needed to get these damn Wish bone mounts on there. They're the 1/4 inch thick bolt on ones from speedway but I'm not about to bolt em on. After a couple precision lightsaber cuts I had some slots for them to fit snugly into, welded those bad boys up and now I have a solid front end! I'm gonna grind the top smooth...

I didn't document what came next (camera died) but I have to get going on the ladder bars here. So after a TON of checking and re-checking, I got some idea of where they should be. The cross member pete & jakes sent me was WAY too dropped, I would've hit the ground for sure. But my shop mate is tearing apart a 64 monterey and gave me the rear shock mount tube. PERFECT!! Throw some tabs on there, weld the ladder mounts to the axle (after tacking them on a bazillion times), and ladderbars are done, next I threw the spring hangers on and Darth Walter is BOUNCY! The work in this paragraph actually took, like, twenty hours...

HMMMMM... Sits a leetle high still. Thames Van you're right, by the way. I took two inches out of the Z to drop the crossmember a tad. I need more. I read about reversing front springs on here (thanks loudpedal) but no real answer about rear A springs. Gotta try some time. Ready? Get your hydraulic press out cause here we go!

Sits a little better now. With the weight on it I think it'll have the right stance. Now I gotta get to this body and piece it all together. I'll update as I go. Thanks for all the kind words and support guys!

Thought I'd better repay the compliment. Don't apologise for missing my thread...I missed this one too. Looking great. I really like the shop too. How many friends do you need to get a shop like that?

Thanks! There are five of us in there. We just found out that our building is being included in the sale of the business so I believe we'll be moving a few buildings up to a slightly smaller space, but that won't affect anything. In fact, we'll in the same building as MR. FORD and hellonwheels and Mr. Bleed so there will be plenty of inspiration and kung fu fighting to get me pumped up!

    I'm going, I'm going...

Right now in fact! Out to the shop to play with these damn model A hinges. For now I'll post something up. I didn't get a lot done in the last few weeks, I fell down some stairs and was out for a bit, nothing serious. Just excuses. Anyway body is officially under way, firewall needsto be "massaged" a bit, I'll get to that soon. For now I'm gonna hang the doors and tie it into what I have left of the subframe. Then I can Go for the rear quarters...etc...
