got quite a bit done today,,,finished laying out the section job..two inch section to be removed....
plotted all the tangents, marked all cut lines out,,,removed the gas tank,,,and cut everything away that didnt look like a 2" sectioned shoebox,,haha..................

85 % of the cuts are done,,i left the body attached at a few points, so i can doublecheck all the cuts and make sure everything lines up before i do the final cuts......its still attached at the cowl, door post and trunk lid bottom,,,,,,will cut it apart and lower the body down tomorrow if all measuremnts check out, which it appears they will....

never done anything like this before,,but i wasnt really nervous,,kinda excited,,but not scared,,,,after all,,its only metal, right?

here are a few pics from today.............

That thing is gonna be out of control:D!!! I'm lovin the look. I'd like to see what goin on with the trunk. I remember there was talk of pancaking the lid, but are you going to section first, then pancake or all in one-fell-swoop do it?

Love it love it love it. More pictures and more 'how to.'

I want to do a '54 Chevy truck at some point. I've got 3 spare cabs to play with.

  16. If there is another car on the HAMB that has been as heavily customized in such a short period of time I want to see it!!!
I absolutely love what you have been doing to your car. It reminds me of a late 50's show car.
    Keep up the great work!!

Here's a Bailon shoebox with fins that I photoshopped
with a chopped top and a sectioned body.
The section looks like more than you're doing,
and the top is a little different but it will gave you idea
of what it may look like soon.

Now you need an opened-up '52-54 Merc hood scoop to gain back the hood clearance. ;)

    Man that is rad!

so, I just had a message left on my voice mail, after listening to a couple minutes of " O MY GOD " and "I'M MENTAL " !!. I realized it was KUSTOM7777 and he just finished sectioning the car. He did it totally by himself. Way to go Jim, I'm proud of you !!! I knew you could do it.
If he can tear himself away from drooling at the car and staring at it for the next several hours, there should be pictures posted tonight !! Linda

Might as well through in a roof scoop for good measure at this point... You're crazy.
