This was for sale a few years ago. Apparently around the Englishtown area. Big Block with an engine set back.

  13. yeah your right! damn close...even the int. is about the same...........kool history

  14. This is Jim Zakia's car before it was bought and restored by its current owner. There are pictures of it in this state on one of the
"Two Lane Blacktop" site's and the guy talking about it got his feathers ruffled because the owner at the time was claiming it to be the original "American Graffitti" car. Although it wasn't, it turned out to be a very bitchen car with its own historical pedigree.

That '55 was on Ebay @ 5 years ago. We had just sold our house in Seattle and I almost bought it! I wanted that car BAD. The wheelwells were cut a little too big for me, but everything else on this car is fantastic. Straight, gloss black, big block/4-speed, chrome straight axle with skinny little Cragars and that perfect interior. I should've bought it. !@#$%^&*(*&^%$#@!!!

[IMG]What you guys think , take the grill and bumpers back off and put some more spring in it?

  21. no...get rid of the painted part in the center of the grill and add a small moon tank..........then just come up about 6-8 inches in the front with cragar s/s wheels.......and thin whitewall hurst cheater slicks out back!! IMHO

What front straight axles are you guys using? I see speedway has the 49-54 car axle and spring kit, but I want something I can get from a yard.

How would have been done way back when - 1st series 47-54 chevy pickup front end? What cars would work?
