I am going to be running a open hood with 3 dueces and was wondering what would be a good cover for night to keep water off if it rains?????

    Thanks
    Jeff

  2. I'd wear a glow-in-the-dark raincoat, but I think you want to know what to cover the engine with.

Small plastic tarp and some small bungees, or get creative with some vinyl and make a nice "bikini top" hood with elastic in the corners.

Man, just fit your car with a hood and take it off when you feel like it. Air filters are a must also but why would you keap it outside anyways with 3 dueces you can buy a 150$ car enclosement and park it there if you dont have a garage.

A plastic bag and towel work just fine for overnight. It looks dumb, but it's only on when most people are supposed to be sleeping anyway...

my sedan has 50 plus thousand miles on it, and has had a hood on it for a grand total of 17 miles. i had a hartz cloth engine cover with bungee cords made for it, i used it one time when it was raining , the next morning it would'nt start. it trapped condensation in the distributor. i threw that cover over in the corner of the garage about 6 years ago. don't worry about it.

Here ya go......cheap-ass car cover from Manny-Moe & Jack. It just barely stretches over the important parts. Flower just hates to drive in the morning sitting on wet seats.

Shower caps are good... Are you running smokestacks? If so, tennis balls work good too (won't keep water out though), just in case someone decides to get wise and drop something down the stack. I've also seen people use the caps off tennis ball cans and other rubber type caps that snap right onto the tops of the stacks.
