So I was "rust huntin" this weekend...oddball find...WTH is it?

So wandering throuh one of my super secret hidey rust farms I noticed a car I'd never seen before...and I wondered if anyone could help be figure out it origin..
Best I can figure it's been here since the 60's, it's not a Ford...and the boatail is some sort of GM...Cowl is unknown, it has a cool ole ford flatty 8 with aluminum intake and duel dist, and what looks like a lasalle trans and a banjo rear...

 

Front half is 26-27 Ford....Back half homemade.....

It would be good to see some pictures showing the front of the frame. Is the front axle suspended on leaf springs, and is that an old motor mount just ahead of the V8 currently fitted?

 

I'll shoot some additional pix of the tail and suspension as well...

 

Is that a 36 ford frame?

 

with a V8 60 ?

 

I dunno I was hopin ya'll could tell me...It's a hodgepoge of parts...

V860 in a mid 30's Ford frame, Cowl is '26-27 T, That should be saved.

 

Def should grab that...It reminds me of one of the old school boat-tail speedsters. Somebody did a post on here about them awhile back.

 

The boat tail looks to be a long hood from the '40s

 

that looks like it would be so much fun back on the road. Go get it!

 

I did a search for a thread that might have similar "speedster" stuff but only turned up on car...

 

That's way too cool to not save it. Get it out of there and make it live again

 

hood [er, boat-tail] resembles a 41 ford passenger car to me.

 

They're right!! It is a '26-'27 T roadster with the turtle deck removed, and the boat tail added. There is a lot of $$$$$$ value there!

dude, that thing is killer. i've had dreams of racing around in an ol' boattail speedster...nice find! would be awesome to know the history on it...man, the stories that thing could tell. awesome.

That looks like fun and is close to what I am collecting parts and pieces for.

If you don't want it someone on here shure will. It's too far away for me to get too interested though.

Hard to tell from the pics, but are there form fitting rear fenders there? That's a very neat setup. The least you could do is grab it out of there and sell it on here to make your money and time back. That's too cool to let slip further into history and the dirt.

 

I just dont understand , theres just roadsters sitting around in the woods like that . How much would it be to buy that car . That looks like its all there

Or tell 'em it's a one of a kind factory expiremental and you have had it for sale for $80,000 for years, but nobody will buy it because they cant get parts to restore it
