    Saturday May 17th.

We'll meet at the Darkhorse around 10:00 AM. Leave from there and head down 288 to meet the south Houston area folks in Manvel at the Racetrack gas station.

From there we'll head to Surfside and fill up.

Surfside to Galveston along the coast is 40 miles. Don't forget the $2 toll when we cross the bridge.

We can cruise the Seawall to 25th and head into town to make some noise on the Strand before heading out East End or we can just head straight to East End.

We still have to coordinate the East End food and drink but we have two places down there that can support all of us so I think we'll be good.

Will follow up later this week after we get it set up.

    Cool.

I figured I would plot it out and do some screen grabs since I'm constantly referencing Google Earth when other folks are discussing their cruises. Nice to see where folks are and where they go.

The Darkhorse. It's on Washington a few blocks down from Houston Street.

We'll head back up Washington and go south on Houston to get on 45. We'll take a jog around downtown and get on 288. You live here so you know it's pretty much every man for himself once we get on this part of 45/59/288.

We should try and keep a light pace here so stragglers can catch up. Ahem. Me more than likely. This part of 45 and I don't always agree.

We'll meet up in Manvel at the Racetrac. Big enough parking lot for all of us. This is where the smart folks will meet us.

From Darkhorse to here is about 21 miles.

The gas stop in Surfside. This is 44 miles from Manvel. There's actually a big bar/grill/establishment named the Hammerhead in that lot next to the gas station towards the beach. Refreshments.

43 Miles from here to the other end.

"Where's my $2?" Don't forget the toll and if you don't get the line you didn't grow up in the '80s.

    Galveston.

This is Seawall and 25th. From here we can either head straight down to East End or go make some noise on the Strand. We can decide later.

    Looking down on East End.

Nash's and the Baja are across from each other. Plenty of parking. The Baja has mixed drinks and AC if we're so inclined. Nice patio out back.

Just a little way from East Beach if you bring the kids.
