I know I'm going against popular opinion here, but I think it needs to be sectioned, with radiused rear wheel wells. Maybe mild chop and section? To me the car just looks out of proportion.

How about just the pictures? :)

I love the slightly laid back a-pillars and graceful flow of the entire thing. I'm not too into the '49-51 Fords but if they were all chopped like this, I would be. :D

    hahah,,,thanks,,,
ive decided against hardtopping it,,,the car will get a mild chop (2", 2 1/2") with slightly slanted pillars,,
will get it laid out this weekend, and go from there........

Hey Kustom777, you got my attention with the fins. I felt like doing a quickie drawing of your shoebox.I don't really have a opinion on it, I just wanted to see what kind of potential it would have like your talking about. Fins have got to make a comeback!Sorry about the Lincoln hubcaps, they were just esy to draw. Maybe extend the edges of the fins further if you go full custom. Enjoy.:D

After I put those last drawings on you said you wanted solid posts, slanted. That would be easier I bet. Thats the way I drew it the first time. That thing starts to take on the little book look , especially if you get the right color or colors on it. It would have a look all its on.:D

Thanks Kustom777, I was just havin some fun. JamesD ,thats what I was thinking. I like this thread.:D I dont know if some mild form of bubble skirts would look good on this thing if you go full all out custom.:D

  16. That Fairlane trim is really a good idea - it helps take a fair bit of visual height out of the body. I really like where this is going!

I like the animation, very cool...

I like this one a lot, full on serious custom right there...

  19. Hey no problem. The Fairlane trim is just kind of eyeballed on there - its not to scale or anything, so your results may vary, but the idea is really a good one. If I can do anything else for you, let me know.

I have to say - you certainly seem to have a thing for trying out the unusual - and I really like where this one is going. You just have to promise to finish this one, and not sell it like the Caddy!:D

james.,....could you possibly make another version with slightly leaned b pillars, like the drawing by cory, and add some gold color inside the fairlaine trim?.....thanks a lot,,,

    thank you james d,,,
man,,you are great with the photoshops....
how did you learn to do that so well?...i have photoshop, and am just learning,,,is it a matter of practicing,,or do you have some tips?

  26. I´m a technical illustrator - kind of comes with the turf!

In fact the side spear is done in Adobe Illustrator, which is just a bit easier when creating a shape like that from scratch.

But, really its just practice. I still get told stuff by my colleagues that I don´t know, but I seem to do alright most of the time. If you want to ask anything specific then feel free.

I wish I had your metalwork skills!!
