Im sick of seeing shit like this! I hope the frame is salvagable, not shure if it was C-notched or not, and hopefully your doors still open and shut w/out too much rubbing thats always a good sign, because a car is never the same after even a fender bender, wish you the best of luck, I hope the person pays dearly! I know we all make mistakes but texting while your drive is beyond a mistake in my opinion!

The driver door is not opening & closing easily. If the insurance company decides to pay it off we are hoping to buy it back. We will try our hardest to get it back on the road.

  8. Just last week a young man lost his life near here while driving his Grand Am on a two lane highway. It was about 10 in the morning on a bright sunny day and he crossed the center line and hit a tour bus head on. It was full of old folks going to a nearby Indian casino. He was killed instantly and the tour bus went into the ditch and rolled on its side, hurting most of them. Nine are still in the hospital, one in serious condition. The Highway Patrol is trying to figure out what happened and are checking his cell phone records for use at that time, or if he maybe just fell asleep. He worked three jobs and was driving on a suspended license too. They may never know why it happened.

A month ago, just over the border in Minnesota, a young woman who was an illegal alien from Guatemala ran a stop sign at about 60 mph in a mini van and hit a school bus right in the side at the rear axle. It knocked the axle right out of it, and this was a big school bus with duals on back. The impact pushed it across the intersection and rolled it onto a pickup waiting on the other side at the stop sign. The driver survived but she killed four kids in the school bus. Very tragic, two of them were brothers. She had been cited several times for traffic violations before this, including driving without a license. Nothing was ever done about it before this happened.

Just over a year ago, again over the border in Minnesota, my wife's co-worker's brother and his wife were hit head on and killed instantly by an illegal alien from Mexico. He was drunk, and he survived the crash (after hundreds of thousands of dollars of free medical care). He had also been cited prior to this for drunken driving, but was still in this country driving.

You never know what you are going to face on the roads these days.

It's unfortunate how many people lose their lives in car accidents. My mom died in a car accident when I was 4 years old, before there were seatbelt laws (A seatbelt would of saved her life). How many people will die before there are phone laws? Its sad that we can not make smart decisions, so we need laws.

There may not be so many deaths today if they built cars like they used to. We could all be driving Mercs!!

Yes I am a prick. There is a difference in being irresponsible and being stupid. There is a 10 foot tall pole with a 4 1/2 foot red reflective sign that says STOP. It was at the end of her street, something she passes several times a day. How hard is to stop? My mom is a teacher where she went to school, and she didn't know she was my mom, and she said she always runs that stop sign and never had a problem. That is STUPID. What if it had been a kid on a bicycle? What if it had been YOUR kid?

We are almost positive. It's not confirmed but there is no way he was looking ahead when the accident happened. He had to be on the phone or texting and he's not going to admit that to the cop. He was definately distracted by something, there is no way this accident would of happened otherwise.

  16. If the police look at his cell phone records for that day, they should be able to see if his phone was in use at the time of the accident. Ask them if they have done that before they complete their investigation.

First of all thanks to all the support from everyone. It's fucked up what happend to my merc but im just glad i still get to kiss my kids and girl at night still, This is what happend i was making a right turn doing probably 3mph when i was hit from behind from a ford ranger doing 60-70mph I was spun around and as I was spinning my air bags dumped due to broken lines from the impact slamming the car down witch probabley helped stop me from spinning more. The damage is bad in the back with some roof damage too, I found out today from the insurance company they are going to total it out and that 99.9% of the time they dont sell back so I dont know yet if I can get it. I love that car I got it stock out of texas and have done much work to and one day it was suppose to go to my son so if I can get it back it will be repaired and back one the road going to every show again just like in the past.

manhugo dude..bitch or what ever..seriously though..you need to lean on the cops a bit and have them do a search on this kids phone and conferm or not about the texting or phone call. #1.
Than if the state was also notified of the dangerous road situation you need to push on that too.. as far as the insurance company..lean on them and dont take no shit..thats YOUR merc..totaled or otherwise..I dont feel its their place to say you cant have it back after its been declared totaled. They are to show you where you signed that wording on their policy. And i guess if its there and you signed it than maybe your screwed, but i would not lay down until you know for sure. And dont let them bastards tell you its not worth anything..get what you should for that car.

sorry about what happened she sure looked sweet..and it can be again!

Thanks but in california it not against the law to be on the phone in the car until july so it would only prove he was distracted but hes at fault anyways.

Really sorry about the situation Jack but at least you have perspective. You still get to see your family every night and that's the most important thing. That being said, what a horrible fate for such a beautiful car. I always have my phone with me when I'm in the hot rod in case it breaks down. Fortunately its so loud I can't hear it ring and the car shakes so much I don't notice it when its on vibrate. I've missed every call I've received since I started driving it. Good luck, I hope everything works out.

  25. Wild Bill should have been in jail long before he killed Randy Scott for many other shady deals he pulled while he was the governor. Funny thing is I used to ride my Indian through that same intersection while cruising out in the country because I thought "it was safer" !!!

Your dreaming man. If he was texting something when the wreck happened chances are that message wasn't sent. There may be one before that, but there is no way in hell they are going to dig that deep.
