Is this challenge open to any choice of lowrider car/truck, or just the two choices in from the first post? I know that was one of the rules from the earlier challenges, but seems like it may have been relaxed some, which I think is good for this particular challenge anyway.
I believe it is open to any sort of vehicle being a lowrider within the traditional times of lowriders. Nothing rolling on 20's and things of that nature but more towards the 60's style . I may be wrong and I am sure one of the guys in charge will chime in with the details they are looking for.
Thanks Man, just havin a little fun! Crazy thing is...the more that I look at the Drawing the more I see things that need fixing! Good thing we have few more weeks left!
fortypickup: that's awesome. Here's an analog-from-scratch attempt (way more enjoyable than working a photochop anyway...) This is based on photos I took at the Seattle Roadster show, although my sketch doesn't do the car justice.
Gary.... MAN!!!! Too cool, as always... baader, carartNICK,fortypickup, gilty, nate.... all tremendous work!! This is bringing out some great ideas.... I'm warming up at present... hope you dig it... Inspired from a line in a poem titled "I Am Who I Am".... "I am from the past, heading for the future." My take on a decidedly classic look, with some minor, modern touches.
This is my 60 mercury monerey. I've been trying to get around to doing a rendering... The body is stock only shaved emblems. These cars have the door handles in the trim so no shaving there. The only thing major is a 59 chevy front bumper w/lower valance and copperish red paneling . It will have hydro's but just up and down from 1 battery. cant wait to get started.
Now THAT is cooooooool!!!!! I'm digging the paint leading into the upholstery!! Killer stuff. Thanks, man!! Now git ta work!!
Nice stuff everyone. I should be joining in and posting soon. Lockwood---we're on the same wavelength again. (That's all I'll say for now.)
Clark Kustoms, That's a beautiful design idea. Funny thing is, I was originally working on a 1960 Pontiac version of that. It would have been red and white. I may have to post the roughs later. For now tho... Here's what I offer up for your consideration and critique: First up, "El Poncho Lo-Bo" A 1947 Pontiac Streamliner Poppy found in Uncle Hector's old hey barn in El Paso. Junior pulled some tail lights off a '48 to give it that slightly modern look. He then cut the hell out of it to get it down below the stratosphere. The concept roughs Up next we have a requisite Chevy. This one is actually based on a Model kit my son and I built. It may be more of a mild custom but it was made with "low rider" in mind. The concept sketches
Great minds think alike. Or i was on a every thing elcaminoized trip. I think this one is a 59 though.
Like I said I wish I had more time.. but here's something I worked on last night and tonight.. An idea my brother has had for a t-shirt for awhile.. I might re-do it for the t-shirt... anyways here it is <img src=http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee254/designisgraphic/low01.jpg> Hope to do something else before the deadline.. -Juan
Jigger... once again, GREAT stuff!! Really diggin' the way you handled the chrome!! Juan, that's just freakin' cool!!! Clark, another nice Elkie! himjively, again, VERY cool! Paying the bills cut my time waaaayyyy short, but wanted to throw the "other" ridee out there... what's a lowrider meet without a '61 Impala? 'Flaked for your approval, I give you... gee, uh, I didn't give it a cool name or anything.... ummm... "This":
