what have you guys been up to lately? after getting my 40 in primer for the 80th time, it still needs some more work. after 2 years of building this car, im about to give it up and shit can it if it still looks bad next time i prime it...
Reposting for Rod in Austrailia. First one got lost in old thread, I guess. He's a HAMB'er, so I suppose he'll supply his own comments.
Geezer, the trees behind the Camaro real, or a magazine picture? Thanks for posting my pics last week Rod
I think it may be a combination of the filler you are using and the primer making it soft again and it shrinking. Just what primer and filler do you use? Hey, if you do give up on it, Im interested!
Rod, The Camero was built before the dios. I shot the pic in my side yard and the trees are across the road.
I guess I'll post a couple of my older straightliner builds before heading out to the swap meet at DuPage County...... You TRaK guys have seen this one before.... This is one of my oldest surviving builds. It was done some time in the late 1980s....
Here is what i'm working on, It's a 1/8 scale willys. complete build so far http://public.fotki.com/Keith__Shannan/keiths_model_car/18_scale_models/18-1941-willys/ keith ross aka modelcarjedi
Don't quite on the '40, it's looking good...besides you need to keep practicing on this one so you can get that '37 Chebby perfect!
Slots of Doom is today!! So here's what I'm bringing. I'm trying to build a "TwoLane Black Top" 55 but as you can see I've the the wrong roof. I had to sand off all the extra side moulding as well. Now all I need is to make a hood scoop, any ideas? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230048&highlight=slots+doom
Lookin'good, Ol'Skool ! You're almost there. It looks ready for a coat or two of " Primer/ Filler ". Just protect your door lines, etc. to retain your detail. ( Which you have done nicely, by the way. )
some stuff i've picked up in the last few weeks. 40 coupe: I'm reworking someones 40 year old chop job/3 window conversion. i need to get some better 58 Chevy headlights to replace the beat up ones that are in there now. another 40 that i haven't started yet. just picked this up yesterday from an Estate sale. oddly enough it was the only car related piece in the house!
I'm glad I checked your link, modelcarjedi ; There's a lot more to this excellent build than meets the eye !
dont worry guys i wasnt really gonna toss the '40, i just wanted to see your reactions, i'll finish it. this is one of my favorite builds actually. im looking forward to getting it painted. and keith, i'm collecting parts for that '37 model, how's the real one coming along did you get paint on it yet?
i made a two lane blacktop hood, all i did was cut the whole front clip off, glue the hood on, and make the scoop with thin sheet styrene. i just need to finish bodywork and i'll send it off to be casted in resin...
Great lookin' builds in the background, too, Ol'Skool ! Where have I seen that fordoor ? I can't wait to see that chopped '36 .
Even if there is bad body work and/or paint your right on with the stance and look as far as I'm concerned. Killer Job!
Great looking stuff everyone. Back to the garage for me for another block sanding session......someday I will get back to the plastic.
