Freezing in Neepawa Manitoba, just moved here from Calgary. No car at the moment, but I have a '27 Essex pickup "survivor" waiting for me to pick it up. Just have to get the cash from selling the house in Calgary.

another 12 or 14 weeks some of us can dust off the rides for a early start, in the mean time I let my mind wander.

+9 degrees C and not enough snow in the fields to plow here in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The banana belt of the east coast. YES PEOPLE!!! There IS more "east" past Montreal. ;)
How's things on the rock Leon? You folks have had your share of winter and mine too. I've been SO lucky. All these storms have passed up through the Bay of Fundy and missed my corner of the world. Only had one snow day (I teach at the local community college). And that was over by 10am.
Rusty cars? Yup. We do know rust on this edge of the continent.
Workin on a 30 A pickup. Well... the box, cowl, drivers door and fender and building the rest from scratch. Not much to choose from around here. Gotta laugh at these guys who don't paint their rides. Could only do that for 2 years around here and you wouldn't have to worry about that metal again. ;)
As I recall there was a car produced here in NS WAY back when. I'll have to dig around to find out what it was.

From what I understand he still deals in vintage tin. He's moved out to the Plumas area, though. I want to take a trip out there once it warms up a bit.

  16. Is this a Canadian built truck ? I remember reading up on it years ago but can't recall the manufacter/ coachbulider.

    Labatt's Stream liner...it's on a
"WHITE" platform..Restored near London many years ago..by two brothers who owned a truck repair shop. The trailer was found in gravel pit in Mount Elgin,I think. Saw this many times..beautiful wood work inside the trailer..

The NS car I was thinking of was the McKay.
A quick history is at: http://www.okcm.ca/vnscar.html

  18. There used to be a guy named "Geordie"? in the Old Car Trader from Neepawa who had a ton of vintage tin for sale.Ask around and you may find him and the mother lode.....

I knew Geordie well enough (when I lived in Manitoba) to be able to say to anyone interested in buying from him...... be careful. He's not exactly the model citizen when it comes to accurate descriptions nor honest dealings.
