    Hey Mike,
Did Stewart Warner make a matching tach for the large "Police Special" speedos?
    Thanks!

    This is Tony,
they didn't have one with matching graphics, but they did make the same size 5" tachs with the same needle, bezel and glass.

Here's an example, it has the back-mount bezel but I've seen these with the front mount smooth bezel like the Police Specials

  8. Have a set of finned valve covers on my 59 Fury 318. Scored on Ebay a few years back. Have casting on the inside that is shaped like Australia with the word "fountain" inside. Paid $325 with feight. Have never seen another pair but they look awesome.

Man, this thread kicks major ass. Keep it coming. Some of you may know that I'm an oddball speed part addict. Not always buying the stuff, but I LOVE learning about it. It's weird for me to post my Mopar stuff in a thread like this since RB engine stuff is pretty easy to get, but the early type speed part stuff is pretty scarce.

  10. Are they made by Fountain?

Those can be bought brand new. Craig Fountain makes 'em.

According to our Business Directory at the Polyspherical Engine Association:

    Craig Fountain

NEW Finned Aluminum Goodness (Valve Covers, etc)

The price you paid is right on the money. Gary Pavlovich from the 318 Poly Yahoo group http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/318poly/ is his main US distributor, but lots of folks sell 'em... if'n ya know where to look.

It's the Edelbrock ones that are the rare ones. Craig's are thick, and high quality, but they lack that certain script that exudes cool.

And the ones by Craig Fountain (pictured with a P600):

    Craig doesn't make the P600 - rather, it's an aluminum 3x2 intake that Edelbrock made probably 1200 of between 1957 & 1968.

Ok...now your just teasin' me! hahaha......

I'm really facinated with early, pre-war Ford speed equip, all the different manufacturers didn't survive the war....cool stuff.....even though I don't have much, I enjoy seeing it and reading of it's history.

For me, being a gasser guy, my Holy Grail has been the Halibrand kidney bean magnesium front wheels. It took me 2 years to buy these. Shown with early Romeo Palamides 16x10's. This is what was run on the SWC Swindler A car in the early 60's.

My Holy Grail has always been smoothie Halibrands. After 30 years of collecting and searching, they still get me going. Looking for narrow 16's and any 18's now. If anybody has some extras, maybe I have your Holy Grail to trade!
