The Rolling Machine is Smokin'!

Louie S. and I built a Pro-Tools Bead Roller. This is a nice kit, all parts are USA, no Chink shit. If any Commies are offended by that statement, kiss my red, white, and blue ass.
The pics will tell the story.

We welded in the tension adjuster.

We next clamped the 2x3 tubing to a piece of plate. The spacers either got lost or not sent, so we used the gears; I smeared some tip dip on there to prevent weld spatter. Worked just fine.

 

The more clamps the better.


Had to do a little de-burring.

Bottom roller, spaced 1/8" out and from the top of the tube.


We decided to get creative and build a stand. A weld test coupon and some pipe from the scrap pile, bada bing, bada boom.

The bottom plate was donated by my late friend Gary "Pineapple" Gibson, R.I.P.

 

Stand is looking good.

A trip to the sewing machine shop for a new pedal and we're in bizzzness. Works great, and with a coat of Chevy Orange, it looks pretty good, too.

So, show us what it can do

 

The paint should be dry by now; Unclee's bringing it from Louie's to my place tonight, and we'll do a little Natural Light-inspired rollin'. Stay tuned.

 

I got these dies because they were close to the shape of my dash.

Pretty easy, but will be better with practice. The end curve will take a little more trial and error.

FYI, I heard they have outsourced Natural Lite production to Shenzhen provence.... comrade.

 

These are the only pieces we added, all the rest came with it.

 

Help me out, Hell! He did most of the work, I just tried to stay out of the way.

 

That's pretty cool, I've got a little home made flanger myself. I wouldn't mind one of those for my garage either.

Got an idea for a guilde fence from the homemade tools thread, Andy P in the UK.

 

I have a guide fence similar to that on my Mittler Brothers bead roller, I must not be using it right because I get better results without it.

 

Richard I saw that myself, I guess I know what we are building next. Weneed to fab the side plates up and bolt them on so we don't srew up the ZIG ZAG orange paint job!

 

I found the piece in the photos above under the work bench. It's only 22ga, but once you put a few beads in it, it's pretty stiff. May be able to make the cowl corners and new firewall out of some of that. Maybe not. I'm gonna bring home some scrap 22ga from Joe's A/C shop to practice on.

 

Alright! COOL! I dig it and will think about that kit for the future! Nice little package indeed and leaves some room for getting creative with a stand as well. Can't wait to see some finished products coming out of that!

Yes it did, I actualy picked it out of the trash when someone decided to throw away a guy's car stuff after he passed. They threw out two of those huge dumpsters of stuff, whish I would have gotten there earlier.

 

Damn! Now I gotta get my truck finished so that when opportunities like that come along I can load up.

 

I have been Eyeing that kit also. Think Im going to have to buy it now
