lets see your custom Model A dash pics

getting to the point of interior work here at the shop...throwing around ideas on how to do my dash. Lets see what you guys have done. mind you im not talking about a stock A dash with the original 4 gauges...i want to see diamond plate, louvers, custom clusters, custom glove boxes...whateveer you got, as long as its creative.

Here's the start of mine, 34 chevy dash grafted to the original 28-29 top.

Customers Brookville '29 r.p.u with '32 dash and S.W. gauges.

 

57 ford dash cut down to fit with sw gauges mounted from behind. switch knobs from scratch, 64 corvette radio, polished stainless ac vents, garnish molding from scratch flowing into a water fall console between the seats. cut down 56 caddy wheel, custom column with self cancling turn signals. the list goes on and on about 200 hours so far.

 

heres mine...32 Desoto..narrowed 1/8 " on each side, redrilled the upper holes into the model a crossrail and put nutzerts there for the machine screws to go into. (not using the banjo wheel...got a deep dish 66 olds toronado..works for me real well.

 

Still in the building stages. I used a 1940 Chevy dash. Sorry I don't have the guages and chrome on yet.

Here is mine a shortened Buick -51 dash. It is black but on this pic it look gray because of all the dust. The car is a -31 model a truck that hopefully gets drivable in the spring.

Heres my 36 Ford dash with 52 olds gauge pod.

Here are some from a '28 truck I'm building for a customer. I'm not sure if this dash will make in into the final product, but I'm kinda liking it. It started out as a '41 ford dash. And before yall start yelling I didn't pick the wheel, column or the steer clear unit. This is a customer cars not mine!! the glove box is shortened about one inch and the majority was sectioned from the center. The ashtray is still stock size but welded shut to be used as a mount for the HVAC controls. Keith

 

This is the gauge cluster from a 28 studebaker,

it will be installed into a '32 style dash made to fit model A's, with rebuilt gauges , or SW's.

 

just a thought for you model A closed car guy's , a '34 closed car dash is almost a bolt in , I just made a couple of tabs welded to the door pillars and its in , top curveture is perfect to mate to the screen , people ask me , must have taken a bunch of work to get that in there.......nuh .........here's an old pic I've just scanned........

Using the stock tank with 32 dash & machine turned insert. It gives just enough clearance for the gauges.
I don't have a pic, but a custom sending unit has been mounted in the bottom of the stock tank for the electric fuel gauge. Stock fuel gauge is used minus the float and arm, to prevent fuel leaking from that area of the tank.
