This one is for all the AD 47 - 55 Chevy panel truck fans out there. I've been working on mine for almost 2 years now and during that time I've collected about a thousand pictures of panels from all over the web. Here's some of my favorites. I especially like any old pictures of panels in use or ones with lettering. Enjoy and post what you got!

Anyone got any pics of the long wheelbase 3/4 ton ones? There is one up the road from me that has kicked around the area for 10 or more years now gettin worse with every owner, front clip is off now looks like the moter is out too its hard to see from the road, its an old school bus with a couple of windows on each side.I cant stop thinkin what a cool parts chaser year round beater it would make updated with a 73-87 3/4 ton front crossmember and diff .If my old cummins dodge wasnt it such good shape it would make a cool doner as well.I guess I should try and find the owner eh!

i don't usually save many pictures of the long wheel base ones, but this should do if you're into bigger girls.

Whats bein used for the frame on this one...do you know?

Here is the one I was lookin at...he wants 1800 for it though,a little too much for my budget right now:( but he did say hes got to get rid of it because hes gonna be movin.

  14. Well, I do in fact know what frame is under there, cuz I'm doing it! It's a 1991 S-10 chassis, it was originally an extended cab truck, and I shortened the chassis to fit the panel truck. If you get an S-10 that is long bed, standard cab, the frame will fit perfectly. I boxed the frame, four linked it, bagged it, and tucked it way up in the body. It lays fenders.

I guess one can assume GMC's are ok in a thread titled for Chevy's! So here is mine: 1953 GMC, MII front end, Nova rear, 350/350 combo, 2000 PT Cruiser buckets and folding removable rear seat, and topped off with the sweetest tribal decals every made! By the way, this is a static drop! The little silver spot over the rear fender is a flush mount motorcycle gas cap I bought off ebay for 60 bucks. Came with a steel bung, stainless head, aluminum body, and a rubber o-ring, and was the most popular feature of the truck in the Under Construction class I was entered in last fall! Hope to have it a more consistent driver soon.

Any one else hate it when someone calls these things "Panel<i>vans</i>"!!!!

MAN, GREAT THREAD! more pix please! My 49 1 ton I just started. Sorry for the crappy pix, theres little to no room between the garage and truck. I'm gonna be taking a more "rat rod" approach to buildin this. I go very little money to spend and the truck is totally complete, alot of parts just need to be cleaned up. Its gettin a drivetrain swap, electronics, and a super sweet two tone primer paint job (i'll be sprayin it with a $7 gun if that says anything about my budget)
