Oh My God! Do I love this car or what? About a 1936 Studebaker 3 window coupe. Those Stylists were with it that year! There was a '37 / 38 Chev coupe there as well.
Very cool! I remember just one coupe stock car with a Studebaker body like that. It was a blue #3. And there were hundreds of 37-38 Chevy coupe racers.
In the 1960's in new Zealand,a guy I delivered newspapers too had one ,fenderless,GMC 302 ( later changed for a flattie bought NOS from the local ford dealer ).louvered rockers like a belly pan under the doors. so cool it hurt!. thats only the third Stude coupe I have seen .
There is a four door sedan in the bush up here that was given to me. Not much left but the front fenders and grill are still on it! Can,t drive to it so I guess I,ll rent a gas chop saw.....
There was a Stude the same as this sitting in Neligh Nebraska.It looks like the same car.The front suspension was crazy looking, transverse leave spring between a arms..Jigger on this board lives in Neligh and would know if it's still behind Shanes body shop.Cool find and a real unique look
I've always loved the back windows on those....I was on the hunt hardcore for one a few years back but didnt have any luck finding one.... It would be an ultimate taildragger...

yea that Stude is cool man! I found this one upon the forgotten feilds of the ol bombing range. I was humbled in the ol graveyard.....
Hey, I beleve that era of Studebaker coupe was designed by Phillip Wright. Wright did design work for Murphy Coachbuilders, here in SoCal on Duesenbergs and other big named iron. He moved on to Pierce - Arrow, when Murphy closed it's doors and went on to design the 1933 Pierce Silver Arrow show car; at ten thousand dollars in 1933 money, it was quite a show car. The streamlined styling of Pierce vehicles found their way into production Studebakers when Pierce and Studebaker merged in the 30s. Swankey Devils C.C.
The 36 and 37 Studebaker Coupes both have similar rear windows. The big difference is that the 36 version opens and creates a nice flow through ventilation when the cowl vent is also opened. I got one of these coupes from Colorado in 2000, it's sitting in storage waiting it's turn.
Mike, Didn't the '36 windshield crank out, and the '37 had the cowl vent? Just curious.... Did'ja ever drag the coupe inside? Jeff
that is a sweet coupe!!!! id love to go plundering in the graveyard a few post earlier. who owns that stuff anyway and is it for sale?
