At a club meeting the other night we got to talking about our website and others . So my question is does your club have a site, a message board or videos. is it worth the hassle?

Ours are in my sig. The actual website is under construction, we just put some BS up to keep the domain name and some sort of page. Now the MySpace site is what I really work on. Seems like every club under the earth has one on there.

    Here's ours... www.toadsuckcarclub.com

I know, it is a weird name, but the club is open to all makes/models, but we are slowly infiltrating it...

our club is also almost 20 years old, I run the web page all by myself so it's pretty crappy....

  14. I primarily use ours for hosting photos from shows that I post here, but it's not a big hassle and I have fun with it...

we do (www.bearingburners.com) but its a pain in the ass. I guess if your club is more active its cool to have but ours has become pretty lame.

  17. :) If you look thru most of the HAMB threads, you will certainly
come across many of the club sites.....:D Now starting this thread
is a keen idea to get them all to respond to your inquiry:rolleyes:

Is it worth it? I don't know. We don't get much feed back on it from people. The webmaster is busy working a job and raising a family so he doesn't update it much. Some members have asked if they could post pix and trip updates, but none of them know how and the webmaster doesn't want the site screwed up, so ,again, I don't know if it's worth the effort or not.

We still do a spring and fall newsletter and we have a phone hotline that is updated weekly that does get a lot of calls, but mostly we stay in touch through E mails ,phone calls and hanging out together.

The club I'm in doesn't have one yet, but I'm in the process of finalizing at least a Myspace for it.

I've seen quite a few that start out with a bang, and then slowly die on the vine. Nothing gets updated.

It's more work then many expect.

not sure what use a website serves a carclub unless your looking to open chapters around the world, i suppose if a member cn make one up it's not a bad deal, myspace works quite well for networking online

www.theoriginlpoorboys.com Mostly used for club members cars, show pictures, and show announcements. MySpace is where all the networking is at and a LOT easier to work with.
