My good mate Bryan and I headed down to John's Rod and Custom pinic on Sunday at 8:00am. With the weather forecast of rain easing to showers I decided that my car was going to stay at home, didn't like the prospect of driving a brand new car in the rain and having it break on me.. The rain started 20 mins into the 2 1/2 hr drive and it was still raining when we got home at 4:00 pm, needless to say that there was only a very small turnout of cars. Greg Fords latest rod
Sooooooooooooo were you hauled off to any emergency rooms? Because those stories make for the BEST laughter. I'll have a black coupe thanx.
Flatozmade the 1hr plus trek in the rain with no top, no wipers and conventional tyres only to have to wait at the gate for 20 mins to get in, lucky he had an umberella to sit under while waiting. The engine in Choppers FED. Congratulations also to lowsquire for getting his car there, fully engineered and regoed. I dont have a pic as my camera died but he also drove for an 1hr in the rain with no wipers and no top.
We are such a motley crue. But at least we make it look good. Remember! Chicks dig scars! And Corey is a hero for braving a wet ass.
you think this was rain????...last week in north carolina, it rained like hell....so bad, with my engine covered, the hemi plug wells filled up with the wet stuff....my friend arty was going to the show over there with his new 50 ford leadsled - blue with yellow flames - without wipers, he left it in a garage - smart, you aussies are!....mine sat in Fatman's garage until the sun came out...better weather next year when i come over there!!!...johnnyB
Baby, I can go all night. Straight from the Land Down Unda..........and I just highjacked Bingas thread.
thanks for the pics binga. glad I didnt fly down to attend this year. damn. that shoebox is smoooooooooooooooth.
Whoa. I love rain, but dayum! My hair would of fuzzed up, my eyebrows would have slid off my face and I'd of been generally pissy all day. What a ruler!
Hey flatoz, how was the trip home? Jahoota Staying home was a good decision, would have been lucky to have been 150 cars there. Would have been disapointing for chopper as he was expecting 2000 + this year I think.
hey thanks for the pics but you missed one.. my gold val. gets metalflake soon.. we would have liked a bit more sun to, make the lace and pearl really shine. turn out was obviously down but we still had fun, think the booze helped! it was wet, windows leaked, some of us had no wipers and we all got soaked to the bone but who cares, its the picnic you have to go! cant be too much into cool cars if a bit of rain scares you off.. congrats to those in their roadsters.. g.
First year I've missed!!! But I still think we're missing the opportunity to make a PICNIC out of it could be worse....it could be an INDOOR show
