I'm going to keep mine simple. Always liked an orange one around town so I'm going with that, flush fill the a fuel door, shave the handles - moved to a push button in beltline trim. Going to fill the bumper bolts, no covers on the boards and a good old drop.

  4. Bad lighting, cheesy special effects...surely this is next-level photoshopping.

yet an "early" pencil sketch of my '40 coupe submission for the art challenge:)

The finished piece will be an acrylic painting on canvas.

Great work so far from everyone.

  8. Here is what I've been working on for the art contest. Laser cut matte board, painted and layered. This was a test run for part size and fit. Size 9 x 12". My goal is to create something closer to 17 x 22" with a few more details and a different paint scheme. Yellow is all I had in the cabinet along with a lot of different colored primers. The third picture gives you a better idea of how it stacks up. Original idea was to CNC machine and polish aluminum for all the chrome trim pieces but that might be amibitious for a two week project. I'll keep working on it! I got another week right?!

Dam I want to build that car!
I like the raked windshield chop and the larger wheel openings.
The no-post treatment and section definitely make it a VC style.

This is to along with the whole bad lighting cheesey props from Nomoneysonny. I see where you're trying to go. First off i can't afford photoshop so i did what i could with what i had. Start off by giving it a nasty chop, add some faux rust to keep it "OL' SKOOL" then add some hand fab fender skirts. When you're all done SEND IT TO HELL. "I think it's one of my best drawings, I spent like four hours shading the devils upper lip" The only thing that would make it better is a horse collar up front.

Some killer talents on this thread, i would just like to say hello and present a custom version of my original 40 Ford coupe.
Thanks to Dave Stromberger who sent word this challenge was taking place.
I changed the headlights and chopped the top, among some other minor changes. Hope you like it.

Maybe he missed by a couple of years but I dig the redstripes and cragars, they are pretty nostalgic

Well this is as artsy as I could get, but I wanted to practice photoshop so here's what I came up with. Dropped, hardtopped, shaved bumpers, added skirts. Typical stuff.

  18. Well, I feel like I'm jumping the gun a little bit, but what the hey. Here's my first scratch at my concept.
Part of the 12 step program is being able to talk about my problem, and so, this isn't easy, so I'm just going to say it.

I think about cabovers a lot more than is healthy.

Wow, that does feel better. So, naturally, for me, this innocent little '40 Deluxe fell victim to my pug-nosed addiction. Now..., 1320Stang is a coworker, an enabler in my addiction, and partially at fault for this concept for his lunch hour brainstorming. No really, he started it. And yeah, I dont give a hoot if it's a '40 Ford or a '84 Brat, I'm gonna stick that cab up over the engine. I'm just whacked like that.

Nothing crazy, just a cabover'ed 1940 Ford Deluxe. Budd wheels, 2 speed rear axle, oil-bleeding flat head power. Stock-ish, but stockier. No chop on this one. Door handle dropped just a tad lower to reach up for as you step up to climb in. Taller front bumper with all the shiny goo-gahs. I see kind of a Holmes wrecker pocket in the back that could house a boom or a plate for picking or pulling. I'll have to whoop out the rear view later this weekend. I wanted to go 4 door, but in 3/4 view, the proportions never came in right.

This was fun simply because I've never been a fan of the oval-faced '38-'40 Ford COE's. Dunno why. 'Guess it's like the Freudian accusations the Edsel endured. The gharish and offensive display of anatomy that has no business plastered on the front of an automobile... I'm not one to get offended, but that O-nosed truck just picks at me like an obnoxious, squeaky-voiced, 8 year old bully.

    More to come, hopefully...

O.k. I'm sorry but I did this in Photoshop. Here's my take. I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone: Halloween and the 'art challenge'. I might try doing this as a poster if there would be enough interest. What do y'all think? This one was FUN! -stick
P.s. great stuff on here fellas.

Here's another version with a little more time put on it. It's chopped, channeled, hartop, smoothed, lowered and ready to roll.

Usually post my photography but I thought I'd bring out the Illustration skills for the challenge. I usually don't have enough time to do this much detail, but I had a little on my hands. Chopped, new nose and sinister. I did everything in Adobe Illustrator and NO Photoshop is involved.

These are totaly buildable .The UTE is from the kit offered from SOCAL. its a 34 but would work. the boattail could be made from a hood / cowl section split and widened. ... so start cutting...
