Funny, I just read about this car today on another site I frequent (thesamba.com). Here's the deal on this car and the original guy that turned it into a drag car confirms the story in the thread I saw.

"I read that the drag heb in Sweden was a special deal. The car was abandoned without papers, and did go to the junk yard. The deal with the proper authorities was that the vehicle could be used as a racer only and never on the street, and that as soon as the car was no longer raced it had to be crushed. or something to that effect. I don't know the full details, but some-one wrote about it in an earlier thread a year or so ago I think, someone from Sweden.

What's REALLY funny is that I've done that before... the front tends to bottom out easily.

  11. Some pics I had floating around,, I'd post up some pics of my late '57 but those are all on photo paper rather than my hard drive, I really dig the Pre A 356 coupe drag car! that puts turning a split into a drag car to shame!!!

You would think that I would have remembered that since I drove a '66 as my daily driver for three years. It was the same color too - Sea Blue.

  15. It's a little extreme for my tastes but I dig it... I picked up this oval window last summer and intend to do a dropped-axle, open wheeled volks rod out of it but I plan to use one of my old 283 and I have a T-5 for it with a mail-jeep rearend...

I've had BRM's , I've done everything vw, fenderless bugs are the only thing that turn me on now. The cal-look resto thing is nice , but is a little boring, yall do your cars all the same, but thats the point right. Some eye candy. :D Just havin fun.

I agree, to many things wrong with it. no proportionality.. its like so many of todays rat rods being built, overly low, overly chopped and engines sitting to high.. it was not built with style in mind, only about grabbing attention

really like VW's, even some fenderless vs above just not that one.

grave the one you show is great of a VW done in a classic look

JesseJames that is another fine example (thou prefer the first green one).. What did the drag bug end up running ?

Geoff Peterson's Heb Rod is probably the nicest fenderless one
