  5. Mine keeps changing based on where I'm at-or maybe my age (ie type of car I'm working on or if I hear the song to many times) it goes down.

Right now Copperhead Road or Hot Rod Lincoln.

Not to get this off topic but of the songs listed, can anyone here say that they composed the song/wrote the music or lyrics or were in the original band to perform it?

    It would something to hear

    Excellent choice!

I'd probably have "Brand New Cadillac" by the Clash at the top or very close to it.

Several favorite Hot rod and driving songs, all burnt on to a CD so I can hear them while I drive.
    Terraplane Blues ...Robert Johnson version
Cross roads .........Creme ,Livewith Eric clapton out front ,written by Robert Johnson.
    Radar love....Golden Earing
Blackbetty ..two versions one after the other,Huddy leadbetter followed by Spiderbait. True,it's a chain gang chant about braking rocks but Spider baits video puts a whole new slant on things!!!!*
    Sometimes you can get a little carried away so to mellow the driving,theres;
    Apache ..the shadows.
    Born to be wild.... Steppenwolf.
    Cross town traffic ...Jimi Hendrix,
"...You jump in front of my car when you,
You know all the time that
Ninty miles an hour, girl, is the speed I drive
You tell me its alright, you dont mind a little pain
You say you just want me to take you for a ride..."

    Autobahn...kraftwerk.:D
    And heaps more.

Pretty much anything off the Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe album (8 track, cassette or cd, whatever your flavor), Our Car Club, Custom Machine etc. Jan & Dean's Shlock Rod is pretty funny and probably just as suited today as it was 45 years ago.
Check the attached link for a near complete list of car songs from the 50's and 60's

OK, I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread, but I've gone four pages and nobody's mentioned the Collins Kids' "Hotrod."
Lorie Collins had a voice second only to Wanda Jackson's --and that's boilin up into blisters. Her little brother Larry, who must have been about thirteen, sounded like a rabid squirrel playing his double necked guitar.

Did Hasil Adkins have any hotrod songs?
