Hey guys, the story is for real, a very good friend of mine bought the car and I went and looked at it a few days ago. He wants to remain anonymous because he does not know what he is going to do with it just yet. The car actually was in our hometown for several years and was owned by someone we both know. This person was the one who sold it to someone in Mexico, my friend found out about it recently. The car was kept outside for over 20 years and the pictures were taken as it was going to be loaded for its trip across the border. He is one of those people who are always looking and has found hundreds of cool cars over the years.

And to top it off probally some boogie night drug lord was cruising it around his side show circus high like he was hot shit honking the horn watching t.v with that chromed front end.. man i can only picture it now those were the good times huh!!

First of all, the Trash was taken out of the car prior to these fotos being taken and the path cleared in order to move the car.. Go to the link provided and take a close look mate!

Don't worry about trying to correct everything that is posted. It really doesn't matter. It's a cool car. Even if a cool story was contrived to go along with finding it, nobody really cares.

Now personally I would have tried to get the "art" painted on the wall behind the car to display with the car. If not, it certainly needs reporduced to use as a backdrop in showing the car.

  14. My guess is that it was successful for Roth, cause he sold it to Promotions Inc to tour the show circuit.

I got the ID off the block and went to the Mortec site and found that it is a 265 from 56-57, just to add to the story.

The owner said that he had to grease the palms on the Mexican side and the Americans just laughed as he passed through the boarder because they felt that it wasn't even worth sending back!.

That's uncalled for pal. I think slagging other countries off with stereotyped cliches is just a way to make yourself look stupid.

Brian - You can be assured and might as well bump that to 100%. You are correct as for the location..... I agree the car is in good hands...

I would translate it as "El Basurero the mecos Mexicanos!" put this in restoration list: Mexican mural on the back with some stripper girls and a bandanna! with the words in old English.
Just kidding, It's a great find. I will be looking around for some myself. . . .

  27. Very Cool.

Congrats to the people involved. I loved the models of the Roth cars as a kid and remember a few from the magazines.

I never knew of this car and I kinda like it but its got nothing on some of his others (tweetie pie would be my favourite).

As a kid I can remember my favourite was the little yellow thing with the surfboard (Tiki car or something), but probably because I had the model.

With regard to the coloured headlights, I reckon the theory sounds good, but green isn't a primary colour.

Ahh yes but we are talking light here not paint!

Ed's background electromagnetic energy and his artistic study of color really shined with his RGB light setup. The theory of additive color mixing threw everyone for a loop and kept folks guessing.

For more information on Additive Color mixing please check out http://www.rgbworld.com/color.html

My sincere apologies if I offended anyone with a stereo typical counter comment that was just as stupid to begin with.. However I don't appreciate none believers or those that would accuse someone of making up a story that is true or even half true if they don't know the story themselves!

I don't know, maybe I jumped the gun and just had to retaliate a bit because in short, the guy was calling me a liar and unless he knows any better then maybe his opinion should have been kept to himself.. But then again maybe I should have just kept my mouth shut! So with that you have my apologies.

  30. Lighten up a little. It looks just as unimpressive as the conspiracy BS in this thread.

BTW Moldy, I do have some convict blood, but I'm not in the least offended.

    Good luck with the rebuild.
