  4. So many great touches on that Merc...I especially love the treatment on the hood, but maybe that's 'cause I watched him do it :)

Just for the record, I'm the guy who took the original photo, which you so mercilessly cropped...I forgive you. ;)
The story is, these were taken at the South Austin Speed Shop before the Garage Magazine party.
I got there early and there were only a few people in the shop.
The sun was still out and the car was out in the open where I could shoot it.
Later, the car was moved up near a wall and of course the place filled up with 400-500 people.

Thanks for having mercy on me good lord ! To my "defense",the pic you're talking about was already posted exactly like that on page 2 of this post.I just pumped it up for everybody to enjoy, the bigger the better.BUT I mercilessly cropped many other pics before,I gotta admit I always do it,exactly for the same reason, full screen pics for maximum viewing pleasure.Signed : The lucky motherfucker. ( Btw,I'm using the simple text box and can't insert smileys here ! )

AND THANKS A TON FOR THE OTHER PICS !

Sorry to dredge this up, but I found this pic while on google surfing for a totally unrelated image and said, "DAMN." Anyone know any more about it ... maybe a front or profile shot?

go to Decorides.com. It is in the Petersen Museum now. I believe he sold it and now sells replicas and kits based off the original.

I posted this a while ago, but yanked it out of fear the owner hadn't seen it yet. Isn't Donn Lowe's work just amazing?

Sorry, I haven't had time to work more on my '40 for this year, but now I
bought lots of vintage speed parts for the '46 flathead and have some plans
to tear the car apart and finish it finally. Yes, I know I have the 1941 Cadillac
    too, ha ha... :D

Oh men,the description has a couple of hidden jewels whe you realize that this was Lance Bass...

"Grapevine was expertly chopped, channelled, nosed, decked, shaved, frenched, skirted, and pancaked."Sounds like everything Lance has gone through in the last few years..

"Comprising the best of both worlds"..Ummmm,yeah...

"this Kustom is a true chick magnet --and the full console hides trunk release and A/C controls."Chick magnet?Thought this was Lance's car??Trunk release, hahahah, and does A/C stand for ass clench??

"Naturally, the lower you go, the slower you go. For normal operation, you might desire to get it up . . ."I'll let this one speak for itself..

Seriously though,if it didn't have the flames or the N'SYNC script on the back window, that car would be damn perfect..

I found a photo of this wild 1951 Mercury somewhere online... some time ago. I can even remember where I found it. Its far from the traditional customs I like so much. But this unfinished project sure got my attention. A very nice hard-top chop ala Hirohata Merc but with slanted A-pillars. A very wild new grille opening with stock looking but home made grille.. No front bumpers and what looks like molded in 1937 Ford headlights (not sure if that is the best headlight treatment for this custom though) and a super wild paintjob... that could as well be created by Larry Watson in the late 50's.

Does anybody have any moe photos or info on this one? if so please post them.

    Your '40 is absolutely gorgeous!!

The color is very close to what I'll be painting my '37 hopefully this winter, and you've given me a lot of inspiration.

Do you have any interior shots you can share?
    Thanks, LSM
