I agree! There are too many people building poor quality cars that have given the term a bad rap. I do like the idea of"beaters" for a rod. But most of all "no mo foux". If our "ol' dad" said it,thats good enough for me.
I'd still like to see a rod magazine with Pat in total control. I'll bet it would blow the rest completely out of the water. The one exception might be Rodder's Journal but I still have a hard time calling that a magazine. It's more like a book that has a new chapter published every 3-4 months. Frank
Great interview and fun read this morning, thanks for sharing Jason Pat seems to enjoy his passion very much and he doesn't let un-important issues distract him from what he loves about the hot rodding scene today. It's refreshing to see these "words of wisdom" from the perspective of such a respected writer. Good stuff!
I thank you for bringing it to our attention here on this board ...by the way, great interview Randy!
What I've always loved about Pat is that this car stuff is JUST A HOBBY to him. It isn't a lifestyle choice or something to get worked up about if someone doesn't follow the current trends. He just does his own thing, and tells us about it. I also love how he isn't afraid to admit if he screws something up, or doesn't know something. He's without a doubt my favorite writer. Too bad he's not a HAMBer!
I've never worked with Pat directly, but from what I know it is very much more than a Hobby to him. He is most likely one of my favorite writers as well... I love how "matter-a-fact" he is in his articles. Very much a living (and working) legend....
