Tom Culbertson's T-Bird is one of my favorites...

Any pix of his shoebox would be much appreciated too.

  9. Yup. IMO the chop is horrid. Way to boxy looking. It shouldn't have been chopped that much.

    Oops! Thanks for the clarification!

(I wasn't 100% sure what it was, but it had a killer paint job and just GLOWED in the sun! Hard to get pictures of it, though, with everyone crowded around it most of the time!!)

    :)

Of course we are talking about the chop right?? It's been the talk of plenty at different shows where the car turns up. I like the car itself i just think it might might have flowed a little smoother if the back window was laid a little to kinda follow the contour of the drip rail.

This post makes it sooo obvious that kustoms are more alive than they have been in decades! Great to see.

Yeah that Chopped satin green 51 Chevy Fleetline has been a favorite of mine ever since I saw it about two years ago.
The owner was trying to sell it as an Original Sam Barris Car... and at the same time was looking for more information about it...
This was the only time I have seen the car... wonder what happend to it.

It had a very nice chop, overal early 50's look and some really nice details.

A lot of work went into chopping the fleetline roof and ending up with such a nice flow.... removing the drip rail as in a tru 40's-50's fashion did not hurt either.

Taillihts made from grille ends.... nice

The one thing thats a bit weird is the use of the 56 Chrysler grille... very nice. But the rest of the car looks like it could have built in 1951...

And ofcoars the Don Lowe built Harry Bradley Designed, John Babcock 1940 Mercury Afterglow....
