Atlanta was pretty good for a first time event and the locals couldn't have been nicer. The only bad thing was the heat...or, I guess, the humidity actually. Friday was nice. Saturday was tolerable. Sunday was fucking HOT! But, in the car show biz hot is far better than rain, so we'll take it!

Anyway, here's some of what I saw. More in the October Gazette.

This was my favorite car of the event. The gold three-2 topped mill later is under the hood of this beauty.

  12. Looks like I'll have to make a point of being there next year.
    Kirk, question...
Do the cars have to be registered for the street or can I bring my Altered into the show?

Looks like a nice show. I haven't been in a couple years, but our N. Texas Goodguys seems to have a lot more of the TPI engine swap crowd.

Nice coverage of the show; Thanks!

However, the bandsaw edges are frustrating on otherwise great compositions. Do you perhaps have a copy of Photoshop that you could re-size your pictures with before you post them?

Huh? They are resized. They're 640x480. They're perfectly crisp on my screen.

Some are perfect and some have a "pixel" effect around the edges. Mainly where there are contrasting colors.

Regardless of what ever is happening to the digital pictures, thanks for showing us.

Kirk, tell me how you got the first shot of the rear tire. did you actually laydown on the ground with your camera (I did something similar for the pro-st bronco's rear tire).. you are rightthou, that black ford may have been the best car there..(there was one or two really nice tri-five chevys but no right for here).

    That's a trade secret!

No, I rarely lay down unless it's my last shoot of the day. Not to brag, but I just have a knack for holding the camera in strange positions and getting good photos. That said, I did shoot 3-4 to get what I wanted. I actually like my shots better when I don't try as hard, like on that one. It seems like the more I overthink shots, the more generic they become.

As far as car quality...there were a bunch of high-end cars in Atlanta that were really nice and tastefully done. That black Ford is fairly low-buck too. He only has a bout 22k into that thing. Granted, he is a body and paint guy, but still.

That ford was killer-I love the green interior.I saw the guy park it one afternoon-then his wife jumped in the driver seat and he jump in a nice yellow 55 chevy and drove off
