I was friends with the guy who chopped the car. He took a 1/4" grinding wheel and started to cut. He sure made things go from bad to worst. But your progress looks great. Keep up the good work.

I just noticed that there is no picture of the grille I'm talking about, the Chevy grille was there just to have an idea of the proportion of the car.
Worn shoes you can thank your friend, he got me a job for the rest of the year Lol.

    Here goes
A little bit of clean up and a 95% done rear fender
    [IMG]
Boy do I love this profile
A rear bumperette from a Merc
    [IMG]
I added a peak, cut the rear to conform to the shape of the body and the right bullet is extended too to be real tight with the body, I replaced the edge too (piece on the ground) cause it was way too rough and now it has the same peak as the rear body panel
Before fabricating the brackets to check the fit
    [IMG]
The finished product that bolts on the frame through the body at it's original location.

It works, I have to finish all the reinforcements on the right, I did only the left to be sure there was no problems, I even fab'd the hinges.
And the grille I was telling you about, I love it
    [IMG]
    That's it for now.

Did he try to chop your car?
There ain't much left of the coupe, it'is 95% the sedan and new sheet metal.

This week I made the running board, not a straight one, one with a gentle curved edge lengthwise, I still need to extend it at the bottom, it's gona be molded to the front fenders and the lower corner of the fender is now part of the running board. I hate that big gap between the running board and the bottom of the quarter panel, I'm gonna fill that up. I also made the skirt.
I'd like to lay the grille like that, for 2 reasons, 1 it looks better, 2 the front fender just look wrong now when compared with the swoopy rear, it is too short, too bulky it is more visible from a plain side view.
The right side fender is hum...
So I looked around the shop and found a 37 Chevy fender, which coincendly kind of match the rear one in it's general shape, other advantage, it's longer in the front of the wheel opening , just what I need, it would need a peak and get rid of that ugly step (ugly on this car that is) I will see what the customer thinks about this idea. Other thing, thanks to an australian Hamber who swung by the shop today I now know that the grille is from a 45/47 White truck. It's too square and too wide, but it can be fixed, I still love it.

With a little help this fender could be right at home, we will see.

I finally received the roof insert by Iforgotisname from Pomona, that insert he hand made from my template is perfect, smooth like a baby's butt (Ifeel like shit now when I compare with what I do) I did fabricate the corner though
    [IMG]
Now the profile is complete. I love it, very different from a regular 3 Window
    [IMG]
The customer got some 35 Plymouth front fenders (Chevy ones are too hard to find and too expensive)
They really fit this car perfectly, they solve the problem of the shorty fenders.
This wheel is there just to see how it fits in the new opening, it's about 1"of center, I will have to rework the opening.
I fabricated a new bottom to blend the two fenders, I will have to fabricate more patches finish to blend the fenders perfectly. I also mocked up a peak.
