Last Sunday, June 3, was the last time for the Antique Nationals to be held at Los Angeles County Raceway in Palmdale. Apparently the owners have new plans for the property. We attended and saw all the old friends and as always met some new ones. Saw a 6 cylinder shut down a blown flathead among other things We had battery problems and a new driver so I'm not going to tell you our time. But at least we got a couple of runs in. Prospects don't look too good at this time for next year. Most of the strips now require all the safety goodies and a lot of money up front. It was good while it lasted, 37 years!
Ha nice, what did you run out there anyways, crusin in bako it felt like it had to pull off a 12 for sure !!!!!
That sucks...Aside from the crazy heat..It was always a really fun time.. Hope that can relocate it somwhere...
thinking about it now, it was one of the best gathering of the clans Ive ever attended. All kinds of rods, 20,s 30,s 50,s 60,s,driven, trailered, trads, rats, and customs. actually having it out, peeling out, or smokin halfway down.Primo,s primereds, and race. 4,s 6,s 8,s overheads, flats, V,s n, straights. with exhaust smell and sound. sadly we are losing ground!
