Man what a great bunch of threads this time!
almost impossible to choose just one winner,

read and reread most of them two and three times
    after much thought and discussion
we have narrowed it down to one.

This thread is in my mind what the HAMB is about,
working on old parts in a no nonsense practical way
taking some good old junk and making it right again,
documenting the whole process along the way.

Thanks for this fine example of vintage automotive repair
I have no doubt many will use and appreciate this information.

    and the winner is....
    Flathead Youngin'

    for his
    Stromberg Emulsion Tube Removal thread

expect Ryan to let us know what special goodies you have won!

and thanks everyone that posted tech threads this go around
we had some truely outstanding threads, the buffing thread, the mag welding thread, the electro derusting, dimple die, crimp connectors threads and more, man, what a list, all excellent threads

    thanks again everyone

    I love this place!

I didn't even know what the hell an 'Emulsion Tube' was, nor will I ever likely find out. The pics were good, and it was a well done write up. Congrats!

emulsion tube = something that hides a lot of crap in a 97 carb and needs to be removed to clean the crap out.

    great tech piece!

What?? I can't take the credit for this.....I just put it together.....

I learned this from several places; MSN Flathead, Fordbarn and here.

AND, Bruce Lancaster is in on this too......he and I had another one I just didn't make it.....seriously......Bruce was the brains!

thanks....i guess i really don't know what to say.....i have SO much respect for the knowledge here, that in my mind, my techs couldn't even come close to the others......(just look back at my mediocre attempts!)

    thanks, bruce!

it's not just having the knowledge, it's also about being able to share it effectively

  14. Congrats.

A great article and the most important part was that it served a need - in educating us about emulsion tubes - that many of us didn't realize we needed.

I'm betting there's gonna be more than a few 97 fed engines that will run better in the future.

    Good on ya....

But I'll Pass along a "FLATABOY" award ...

One of em was recently left here on my desk by accident ..

anyways I was told to 'pass it along' to those who have gone over and above the call of Flathead V8 Duty.

I take a bow in your honour...
    Kudos and Congradulations Flathead Youngin',
