9 inch ford gear ratio question

    does any one know what cars came with 2.40 or 2.50 gear ratio on 9 inch ford 28 spline or 31 spline

    thanks :confused:

    2.47 or 2.50 were pretty common in mid-late 70s land yachts like lincolns, ltds, tbirds

    Ive got a Lincoln versailles 9" with a 280:1 gear in my coupe. Wanting to replace it with a 355. Just barely above idle at cruising speed with a 700r4.

    that site does not seem to list the later model cars that mostly had the mid 2 gears in them....other than that, it's a handy reference, thanks for the link!

    Even my '78 F150 with the 351M and C6 came with 247s. 31 spline.

    You know ... you are right ... :(
    Lots of 2.75 and 2.80 but no 2.50

    The list has always had the gear I needed and I was mistaken in thinking it was a complete list.
