No, I like the simplicity of a solid color on this one.

I'd say no, but like eric said, it's up to you. If you like it, that's all that really matters.

    NO SCALLOPS.

    Sidetrim.

Helps break up the shoebox slab sides, adds class.

PS: Great car. Wish is was mine.

  15. Listen to Mr Haring. The trim strip makes it. IMO

I say NO...but I would do some sort of side trim treatment. Shoeboxes have such smooth, simple panels that trim would look nice on that sweet paint job. Car looks sweet as is!

  18. Haring is right, slab sided customs like shoebox Fords and Mercs need some side trim. Notice most all the early customs used chrome to break up the expanse of metal.

Man your ride is so kick ass. I'm with haring on the side trim. I think it would give it that extra little pop. Maybe just a touch of pinstriping here and there.

Nixnay or Nada or whatever other cutsie term you can think of for NO!

Want to try something a little different? Highball the paint "tricks", bury what appears to be in the photos, solid paint, in enough urethane clear to make it look like 40 coats of hand rubbed lacquer. Still think it needs an accent? Try a simple chrome strip running forward from the tip of the taillight windsplit to a point about three quarters of the way to the leading edge of the the door. And try a simple full chrome or stainless wheelcover like, dare I say it, the CAD SOMBRERO.

    Oh well, you did ask.

I agree. Here's that picture, only with the car slightly lowered, and skirts added. I think it looks awesome.

It would probably look even better with the B (door) pillars slanted slightly forward. Unfortunately, I don't have photoshop, so I can't do that.
