Jay Ward (Jive-Bomber) has been a buddy of mine for a long time and a H.A.M.B. member for even long...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Amazing that you've worked so hard and it has obviously payed off. Congrats on all your accomplishments...
Nice, Ryan. And Jay makes it easier, with his eloquence... Side note: Last year when working on the magazine that almost killed me before suiciding itself, I got to "meet" some of my art heroes online, concerning a planned art segment. One of them was Dave Deal, who Pixar used to help rough out early ideas for CARS. I thought that was cool... Thanks for a nice read. I'm a sucker for that first-person stuff...
Well done article on a super guy. I had never met Jay personally until last years HAMB Drags (and his dad was there too), but he was extremely helpful in getting my Falcon wagon back from Northern Cali to Missouri. He offered to let me use his garage to jack it up and check it out underneath (which I didn't feel right to impose upon him to do- but a super offer), and steered me to a good place to get a muffler tacked on in the Oakland area (straight pipes at the time- my wife woulda flown home without the muffler ).
Great read from Ryan about Jay. I've had the pleasure of doing business with Jay and he is great person! Jay, have you got the parts for the Pontiac yet? Dan Marvin, Owner Exeter Auto Supply
Great guy...I've kept this link from a pm for years. Pure inspiration! http://new.photos.yahoo.com/vulture_j/album/576460762338567020
Jay Nice poncho your leaning on there! Welcome to the weirdo group of pontiac owners you'll still be cool as long as you dont end up with a Fiero. LTR Dave
Interview thing.. I love it. This Jay guy sounds like a real deal kinda guy, i would like to meet some day. I wish magazines could do a few more down home interviews like this one. COOL....
Thanks for the kind words and kudos fellers-- I'm humbled. And a tip of the hat to Ryan for keeping this place to great to hang around. jay PS: Dan- Pontiac stuff came in yesterday- Thanks again for your great parts service! HAMB Alliance rocks.
And this is another reason why I admire the HAMB, here we acknowledge those before us who have lept in faith, taken a risk, followed their hearts, lived their passion, we lift them up and praise their forgotten achievements. Similarly, here's a gentleman, right here, right now, doing just as I peirs did, a different medium for sure, but a legend in the build.... Thumbs up mate, admire what you've done, and the road your travelling, keep at it, Drewfus
WOW.. Man very kewl indeed. I really dug all three, the wagon, roadster and convert. COngrats on the Pixar things i'm a big fan of those movie's and can't wait for the see the next one.
Jay....can I have your autograph now? Cool interview Ryan, hope to see MANY more of these kinda things on here, you got a bit of a pool of talent to pick from! Just watching Cars on tv as I type too...Ka-Chow!
To add my 2 cents......I think the interview idea is a gem...There is so much talent here. I had never put the Jay Ward on the Cars deal together with the Billetproof dude...never met either, but it turns out to be one guy...and he`s on here for fun??....Neat stuff, Ryan....
Excellent interview...even being from the same area as Jay and reading the HAMB more than my employer should know, I didn't know all those cool details. There are a lot of HAMBers that would be great to see interviewed. Bryan
Mr. Ward, Don't you have copy to edit? There is a deadline you know. Perhaps we should keep the Safari at my place so you won't be distracted. You do have the keys don't you ?
