History yesteryears fillin stations

In front of my shop

 

Cool, there is a garage around here that is set up to look like a gas station in the late 1930's. It is very cool and even has an old Chevy under the overhang. I've got to get a picture of that place.

 

There is a fabulous old brick 2story station in Trinity TX.
A fine brick Gulf station in Fayetteville TX too. If anyone is traveling down I10 between San Antonio and Houston or on 71 to Austin, it is only short hop over to Fayetteville to have a World Famous Burger at Orsak's Cafe and really good steaks, chicken-fried or otherwise too. Good old hometown food at a good old hometown price. The square has an unusual Courthouse too and many historical buildings.

Ohhhhhhhhh yess you better grab that pump!!!!

Yowza that is a nice one!!! Now get into the building and carefully, armed with some wasp spray, look around for other NOS(neat old shit).
Go now and get that pump!!

 

In St Johns just on the outskirts of Portland, there is a really nicely restored Signal gas staion.

 

this is what we did with the one in wayland for our show!!! turned out real neat!

 

I just thought I would post up on that I found not to long ago in a small town not far from me, I use to go to this station 20 years ago, she not real old, but still cool, and I know it's not a hotrod, but I had my truck that day. So just enjoy.

 

I got these pictures off of Shirley Muldowney's website a couple of years ago. This gas station is about 2 miles from my house however it doesn't look like this anymore.

Saw this in an old Alberta prairie town, love the old rates, no wonder he's out of business

 

vintage bungalow lines in the first post..here in Tampa there are alot of vintage 20's and 30's speedline art deco gas station buildings

hello from Minneapolis, MN. In a northern MN town named Cloquet sits a gas station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. This station was build in 1956 and is still in use today. We have driven past it a number of times.

 

In highschool I worked at the neighborhood full-service filling station. It had been in business since '41 with one of the original employees still working the pumps just a few years ago when I graduated and left town for college. Sadly, the station was shut down just last year by the new landlord who inherited the property after her mother passed away. A few of the guys packed up shop and now work for the neighboring fullservice station directly across the street, including the old man whos first day on the job was in 1941. He was 15.
